Tan Yun looked at Li Shimin with a calm expression, seemingly unfazed by the accusations thrown at him.
“Is that so?” he responded slowly, “And what makes you think I owe you an explanation, Li Shimin?”
The atmosphere grew tense as the other celestial masters exchanged glances, sensing the brewing conflict.
Li Shimin's face turned red with anger. “You think you can act without consequences? You have betrayed our trust! You will pay for this!”
Tan Yun chuckled softly, a hint of disdain in his voice. “Pay? For what? For being stronger than you, or for not adhering to your petty notions of brotherhood?”
Wooden Beacon Celestial Master stepped forward, trying to mediate. “Enough, both of you. This is not the time for internal strife. We are dealing with greater threats at the moment.”
Bai Cheng Celestial Master nodded in agreement. “Let’s focus on the real enemy rather than tearing each other apart.”
But Tan Yun's eyes blazed with defiance. “I won’t be cowed by empty threats and hollow words. If you want to challenge me, then come at me!”
Mu Zhen Celestial Master raised his hand, signaling for calm. “We are all on the same side against the chaos that looms over us. We should not let personal grievances cloud our judgment.”
Li Shimin clenched his fists, still seething with rage. “I will not forget this humiliation, Tan Yun. The day will come when I will make you pay!”
As tensions simmered, the air crackled with energy, and the shadows of impending chaos loomed over them all.
At this point, Divine God Lingxia gazed at Tan Yun and Mu Zhen Celestial Master, sighed, and revealed a killing intent. “You two rebellious disciples, speak your mind. After you finish, I will clean up the mess!”
“Especially you, Jing Yun, speak! You are clearly the father of Snow Shadow Celestial Master, yet you lurked in the Primordial Chaos Divine Realm. What is your purpose?”
“As you wish, I will tell you, but I must answer all your questions one by one.” Tan Yun suddenly turned back, pointed a finger at Zhan Peng from a distance, and said sternly, “Zhan Peng, once a personal guard of the primeval supreme, and one of his most trusted individuals.”
“Later, you betrayed the primeval supreme and revealed the location where he was healing to the then Lingxia Celestial Master and supreme divine king.”
“Then, Lingxia Celestial Master and supreme divine king shared this information with…” Tan Yun paused, turning to point at the High Deity of Chaos, “you, who was still Chaos Celestial Master back then.”
“You relayed this information to your master, the supreme chaos, and then your master conspired with the primordial supreme, treacherously striking against the primeval supreme, brutally killing him.”
Tan Yun suddenly turned back, staring at Zhan Peng, and said in a deep voice, “The primeval supreme once trusted you so much, as well as the supreme divine king and the Lingxia he raised.”
“But he was betrayed by the three people he trusted the most and suffered a bloody massacre against the Twelve Great Divine Races under the primeval supreme!”
Upon hearing this, Divine God Lingxia immediately spoke up, “You’re talking nonsense…”
“Am I talking nonsense?” Tan Yun roared, “Lingxia, it was one thing for Zhan Peng and the supreme divine king to betray the primeval supreme, but why did you betray him?”
At this point, Tan Yun’s eyes turned red, and memories of nurturing Lingxia to adulthood flooded his mind, making his heart ache like a knife!
There is no hatred without reason, and it is most appropriate to apply this to Tan Yun.
“Lingxia!” Tan Yun gritted his teeth and reiterated, “Back then, it was enough for Zhan Peng and the supreme divine king to betray him, but why did you betray him? Why!”
“He raised you with his own hands, nurtured you to adulthood; in his heart, you are not only his disciple but also his daughter!”
“He opened his heart to you; how could you betray him!”
Everyone present realized from Tan Yun's words that he was once a subordinate of the primeval supreme and was here to help him seek revenge.
