Chapter 1488: Conquering the Inner Demon! 🔥

Published: February 25, 2025

Tan Yun felt immense sorrow as he watched the middle-aged woman cry uncontrollably, clutching the weeping child in her arms.

That woman was his mother from his second life, and the child was none other than himself!

“No!” In profound grief, Tan Yun could only watch helplessly as his mother and his five-year-old self were brutally killed by robbers!

Even though Tan Yun knew he was in an illusion, he understood that the scene he saw had truly happened!

He was a human, he had emotions, he had blood, and he couldn't remain indifferent!

As Tan Yun grieved, the scene before him changed again. He saw a mansion being slaughtered!

This scene struck Tan Yun hard, making it difficult for him to breathe!

Because in that mansion were his third life self and all his relatives!

Then, the scenes kept changing, each one representing his every life!

Every scene was a depiction of his own death, the death of his loved ones!

It was as if Tan Yun had returned to the past, watching helplessly as his every self, his parents, brothers, and sisters were killed!

When the visions of a million deaths faded away, Tan Yun had spent half a year inside the Tower of Inner Demons. His eyes were already bloodshot, filled with rage!

“Ah!” Tan Yun roared like a beast, “Inner demon, I know you're here, come out!”

“I will destroy you, I will destroy you!”

Suddenly, within the vast Tower of Inner Demons, a hoarse and eerie laughter echoed, “Tan Yun, what difference does it make if I come out? Whatever you can do, I can do too. Do you think I’m afraid of you?”

As soon as the voice fell, a young man in a black robe with disheveled hair appeared out of thin air in front of Tan Yun.

The young man's eyes were pitch black and profound, his brows raised, exuding an extreme charm.

The young man looked exactly like Tan Yun; he was Tan Yun's inner demon!

The inner demon stared at Tan Yun, with a chilling light in his dark eyes, mocking him, “Tan Yun, how can you still have the face to live?”

“You should die, to atone for your sins!”

Tan Yun replied sternly, “My life is my own to control, you have no right to speak!”

“Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous!” The inner demon's voice was filled with curses, echoing, “How can you still say that your life is your own?”

“Think about how many people you have harmed?”

“Because of you, your parents and relatives across countless lifetimes have suffered, all perished!”

“Because of your eternal cycle of reincarnation, your former subordinates were brutally slaughtered by the primordial supreme and the supreme chaos!”

“It's all because of you! The Primal Wilderness God Sovereign, the primal chaos god sovereign, the golden dragon lord, the demonic dragon deity, and the other eight god sovereigns, all died!”

“How can you still have the face to live? You cursed being who has harmed countless lives, give up resisting and die to atone for your sins!”

What the inner demon said was the eternal pain in Tan Yun's heart, a pain he never wanted to mention.

Tan Yun's mind was flooded with images of his relatives dying throughout countless lifetimes, and the inner demon's cursed voice resonated in his ears. At this moment, an overwhelming sense of sorrow and guilt surged within him, eroding every nerve in his body.

Gradually, Tan Yun's eyes shifted from blood red to confusion, ultimately becoming helpless as he murmured, “Yes... I have caused the deaths of so many people. What face do I have to continue living in this world?”

At this moment, it was evident that Tan Yun had been taken over by his inner demon.

Was Tan Yun's will not strong enough?

No!

Of course not!

Rather, the inner demon's words tapped into the deepest pain in Tan Yun's soul.

In this moment, under the inner demon's manipulation, Tan Yun's sorrow and guilt blossomed into a hundredfold sense of sin.

“Yes, you finally awakened,” the inner demon continued to entice him. “You have no face to live in this world; only death can bring you relief, only death can atone for your sins.”
