Chapter 897: Astonishing Turn
Han Li narrowed his eyes, activating the first layer of the universal treasure spell formation’s cultivation technique, lifting the Small Cauldron above his head in one swift motion.
A dragon’s roar sounded out. The cauldron lid instantly transformed into a blue glow and soared into the sky. Then, from within the cauldron burst forth myriad streams of five-colored spiritual light. The azure light emitted by the Saintess of the Heavenly Waves gathered like countless rivers flowing into the sea, merging into a single beam of azure mist that flashed and was swiftly absorbed into the cauldron.
The silver-robed woman was shocked, and Han Li was momentarily stunned as well.
At that moment, the Great Cauldron beneath the Saintess of the Heavenly Waves emitted a strange humming. Suddenly, it transformed into an azure rainbow within the azure light and shot rapidly downward.
The silver-robed woman’s face paled as she hastily formed hand seals to recall the Great Cauldron. But the spell formation failed; the azure light ignored her attempts entirely and directly entered the Small Cauldron below, vanishing without a trace.
The Saintess of the Heavenly Waves felt a mix of shock and anger, but the matter was far from over.
The Void Heaven Cauldron in Han Li’s hand suddenly flew out on its own. After spinning rapidly, its mouth automatically aimed at the nearby white mist, faintly flickering with a spiritual glow.
From within the white mist came a terrified beast’s roar. A black shadow shot out from the mist, ascending rapidly.
It was the Heavenly Wave Beast, with the head of a bull and body of a flood dragon.
But a brilliant azure mist shot out from the cauldron, chasing after the Heavenly Wave Beast at an incredible speed. In an instant, it enveloped and captured the beast within.
The beast roared wildly and struggled, but the azure mist seemed to be its natural nemesis, rendering its efforts useless. After a circling motion, the beast’s form rapidly shrank, then was pulled inside the cauldron.
The cauldron lid circled once before falling back to seal the opening, imprisoning the Heavenly Wave Beast within.
All these changes happened rapidly, in the blink of an eye.
The silver-robed woman’s jade-like face instantly turned deathly pale.
She found it impossible to accept the sudden reversal. She had clearly held the upper hand moments ago, yet in an instant, she had fallen into a deep abyss.
Not only had her opponent broken free from confinement, but both the Sacred Cauldron and the clone of the Sacred Beast had been taken away simultaneously.
However, this woman was no ordinary person. Her eyes flashed coldly as she fixed her gaze on the Void Heaven Cauldron in Han Li’s hands.
She knew very well that the cause of all these dramatic changes lay in this object, which was similar to the Sacred Cauldron. Judging by the loss of control of the Sacred Cauldron, this cauldron must be closely related to it, or else such an astonishing turn would not have occurred.
She resolved in an instant: this cauldron must be seized!
Han Li naturally felt a mix of excitement and caution. Seeing the cold light flashing in her eyes, he understood her intention immediately. Laughing heartily, he gently flapped his silver wings behind him, transforming into a silver arc that appeared several dozen feet away.
Without hesitation, he beckoned to the Greatsword, which shot back like lightning. His fingers danced rapidly in an illusion-like blur, forming a series of strange hand seals. His whole body shimmered with azure light, and a shocking surge of spiritual energy emanated from him.
He opened his mouth, spitting out several clusters of refined blood that scattered in the wind, turning into wisps of blood mist. The spiritual light instantly shifted into a bizarre mixture of azure and red.
At the same time, Han Li’s exposed hands and face began to turn an unusual crimson, quickly deepening to a blood-red color—startling to behold!
Within the blood mist, Han Li’s figure became indistinct, as if fading away.
