Chapter 885: Bitter Poison
“Master! What’s going on?” As the artifact spirit bonded with Han Li’s mind, Silver Moon immediately sensed Han Li’s unusual state and couldn’t help but ask.
“Someone’s approaching here. One foundation formation cultivator, one foundation establishment stage. But they’ve stopped about ten miles away. The foundation establishment stage cultivator’s aura feels somewhat familiar—seems to be that Maple Peak fellow. That’s a bit strange,” Han Li said, stroking his chin thoughtfully.
“Should I, as your artifact spirit, go take a look?” Silver Moon hesitated for a moment before speaking.
“No. Your injuries haven’t healed yet. I can only use foundation establishment stage cultivation base. Better not cause trouble. They should leave soon. I’ll just monitor their movements here with spiritual awareness,” Han Li replied, shaking his head as if sensing something.
Since Han Li said so, Silver Moon naturally had no objection and agreed.
Han Li closed his eyes and sat silently.
But after a meal’s time, Han Li let out a soft exclamation, his face suddenly showing shock.
This time, Silver Moon wisely didn’t ask.
Han Li’s brows furrowed tightly, his expression flickering between dark and light.
“Senior Great Yin, if I remember correctly, you said that the deadly aura on me can only be removed by a few secret arts, and among them, the Buddhist cultivation techniques account for more than half. Is that true?”
“Indeed. Besides Buddhist cultivation techniques, some rare methods from Confucianism and Taoism can also dispel deadly aura, but none as effectively as Buddhist techniques,” the Great Yin Divine Lord replied lazily.
“If that’s the case, the most prominent feature of Buddhist cultivation techniques is that the magical power they cultivate contains Buddhist power, and most techniques manifest as seven-colored spiritual light, right?” Han Li asked, his mood still unsettled.
“Correct! What is it? Did you discover something?” the Great Yin Divine Lord sounded curious.
“Then this person might be useful after all. Perhaps even an opportunity,” Han Li muttered under his breath.
The Great Yin Divine Lord was puzzled by the sudden question and not seeing Han Li’s answer, grew displeased. Just as he was about to press for details, Han Li seemed to make a decision. Suddenly stamping his foot, he immediately transformed into a streak of azure light flying out from the boulder, heading in a certain direction.
This move surprised both Silver Moon and the Great Yin Divine Lord. Though puzzled, seeing Han Li’s urgency, they kept their questions to themselves.
In just over ten miles, Han Li arrived almost instantly at a rare small forest in a grassland. The forest was about half a mile wide, with sparse and not very tall trees.
In the center of the forest clearing, about thirty feet across, two people were present.
One was the man in the blue robe, lying face down with a black bloodstain on his back, motionless and seemingly near death. However, a bright seven-colored light shield surrounded his entire body, vivid and dazzling. Nearby stood an elderly man in purple robes with eagle-like eyes, commanding a fiery red flying sword that had transformed into countless sword shadows slashing at the light shield.
Though the seven-colored light shield was extraordinary, without its owner’s control, it was already shaking violently, flashing wildly.
Han Li’s sudden appearance naturally alarmed the eagle-eyed old man.
The old man was startled but calmed slightly upon recognizing Han Li’s cultivation base was only foundation establishment stage. However, his mind suddenly hatched a plan to kill and silence him. Raising a hand, a black gleam flashed out—a triangular dagger wrapped in black energy, moving extremely fast.
Han Li snorted coldly, without hesitation pressing his palm to the crown of his head. A dark green cloud shot out with a “whoosh” from above, instantly transforming into a several-foot-long emerald-green hand that reached to seize the black gleam.
