Chapter 822: Lingmiao Garden

“Not bad, this is indeed the gate,” the marquis of Nanlong gazed at the modest stone gate, his expression thoughtful. In the end, he let out a long sigh.

“The blood energy on this gate seems to have an unusually strong demonic nature. Could there be any problems?” Lu Weiying watched for a while, feeling somewhat uneasy as he asked.

“This gate was sealed by an ancient cultivator using his entire life essence. Naturally, it differs from ordinary restrictions—that is quite normal. What’s the matter, Brother Lu? Are you having second thoughts now?” the marquis of Nanlong’s gaze shifted slightly as he said calmly.

“Second thoughts? We’ve come this far; how could I possibly act so foolishly? But to be safe, shouldn’t we proceed cautiously?” The elder shook his head and spoke with gravity.

“Brother Lu makes a valid point. This gate does give off an uncomfortable feeling. How about this: we set up several layers of protective formations outside the gate first. That way, if anything goes wrong, we’ll have a safe retreat,” the marquis considered and then relaxed his expression somewhat.

“Good, that sounds best. Let’s follow your suggestion,” Lu Weiying nodded without hesitation, happily agreeing.

So, the marquis and the elder took out several sets of formation tools from their bodies and began setting up magic formations at the bottom of the pool.

But just as the marquis and the elder prepared to lift the seal on the blood curse gate, elsewhere in the inner valley, in a great mountain covered with dark stone, a group of people slowly made their way towards the summit.

At the forefront was a middle-aged cultivator with a fierce, grim expression. Beside him was an old man in green robes—none other than the sect master of the Ghost Spirit Sect—and Wei Wuya.

Wang Tiangu lagged behind the two by about a zhang or so.

Behind them, four core formation stage disciples of the Ghost Spirit Sect followed closely.

“This ghostly place is truly sinister. In such a remote spot, there are air-restriction formations set up within hundreds of miles. You can’t even fly a few dozen feet above the ground,” Wang Tiangu glanced at the blood-red clouds not far overhead and muttered softly.

“The more restrictive it is, the more it proves we’ve found the right place. If I were an ancient cultivator, I’d also place critical locations in such a hidden spot. After all, with these restrictions, few cultivators would bother trekking here for days on foot,” the sect master of the Ghost Spirit Sect replied calmly, his expression unchanged.

“We’ve put so much effort into this. I hope we aren’t mistaken. We’ve already lost three disciples along the way,” Wang Tiangu showed a hint of helplessness.

The sect master chuckled softly but said nothing.

At this moment, Wei Wuya looked towards the summit with an expressionless face and said, “It’s been three days and two nights since we entered the inner valley. We should be nearly there by now. Don’t tell me we have to walk for several more days!”

“Rest assured, Fellow Cultivator Wei. Once we climb over this mountain, the place will be right there. No need to rush! If this mission succeeds, our Ghost Spirit Sect will undoubtedly become the foremost demonic sect, and your breakthrough to the transformation spirit realm will be just around the corner,” the sect master said in a more relaxed tone, showing respect to Wei Wuya.

“Hmph! To be honest, I don’t believe in the legends of Lingmiao Garden. It’s probably just rumors spread by ancient cultivators. If there really was a space at the boundary between the Spiritual Realm and the Human Realm, other cultivators would have found it long ago, and it wouldn’t have remained hidden until now,” Wei Wuya said with some sarcasm after a moment of silence.

“If Brother Wei does not believe, why did you agree to our invitation so readily?” The sect master’s expression did not change. Instead, he asked with interest.
