Chapter 802: Cultivators Outside the Valley
Near a small valley covered with creeping vines, a white light shot through the distance, heading straight toward this place.
Within the white light, atop a spiritual bird as pure as snow, sat a graceful and gentle green-clad woman.
In the blink of an eye, the spiritual bird sped like the wind and lightning, arriving above the small valley. Then, folding its wings, it dove downward. Just as it was about to plunge into the dense vines below, the woman raised her hand and formed a spell formation.
Instantly, the green light below flickered, and the vines suddenly vanished, revealing a greenish light veil.
Without hesitation, the green-clad woman urged the spiritual bird onward. The white light flashed, and in an instant, she disappeared into the light veil.
Beneath the veil was another world. Six cultivators dressed in green sat cross-legged within a pentagonal magic formation in the center of the valley.
The formation was small, only six or seven zhang wide. Five sat at the vertices of the pentagon, spiritual light flickering at the edges of the formation, while a long-whiskered elder sat in the middle with his eyes tightly closed.
Suddenly, the elder opened his eyes and lifted his head to gaze skyward.
A white light gradually descended. After a moment, the green-clad woman arrived before the elder and bowed.
"Disciple reporting, senior uncle. The miasma in the mountain range has completely dissipated. Many cultivators have already headed to Fallen Demon Valley," the green-clad woman said respectfully, lowering her head.
"Has the Ghost Spirit Sect departed yet?" the long-whiskered elder asked slowly, stroking his beard.
"Most of the Ghost Spirit Sect members have not yet left, but a few disciples went ahead," the woman replied carefully after some thought.
"Hmph! Since the old ghosts of the Ghost Spirit Sect haven't moved out yet, there's no need for us to rush either. As long as we keep an eye on the elders traveling with them, nothing will go wrong. Junior Disciple Han, continue monitoring their movements. Report immediately if there's any abnormality," the elder instructed calmly.
"Yes. I will set out right away," the green-clad woman replied without hesitation.
She bowed again to the elder, then gracefully mounted the spiritual bird and flew upward. Soon she passed through the light veil and vanished from sight.
The elder watched her disappear, his eyes flashing with keen light as a trace of thought crossed his face, but he quickly returned to his usual expression.
The five cultivators sitting around the formation, from the green-clad woman's arrival to her departure, remained motionless, expressionless as if they were wooden mannequins.
The long-whiskered elder seemed accustomed to this and showed no surprise before closing his eyes once more.
...
At the same time, atop a towering mountain peak about a hundred li away, a gray-robed Taoist priest stood firmly on a rock, facing a fierce wind. He squinted as he gazed toward Fallen Demon Valley.
Behind him stood two tall figures about two zhang in height.
Looking closely, the two figures had blue faces with fangs, expressionless wooden features—they were mechanical puppets shaped like malevolent ghosts.
At this moment, the Taoist glanced back at the two puppets. A trace of satisfaction flickered across his face before he murmured to himself,
"With these two, they’re as powerful as ancient puppets of nascent soul cultivators. This journey to Fallen Demon Valley should be very profitable."
Having said that, the Taoist formed two spell formations with his hands.
Immediately, the two malevolent ghost puppets rapidly shrank and flew into his large sleeves, after which the Taoist transformed into a streak of red light and dashed toward Fallen Demon Valley.
...
In the high sky elsewhere, three rainbows flew side by side.
Within the flying light were two elders and one woman, racing toward Fallen Demon Valley.
If Han Li were to see these three, he would be greatly surprised, as two of them were people he knew.
