Chapter 801: The Valley Appears
The secluded mansion of Elder Lu from the Heavenly Pole Sect was equally very simple.
After Han Li walked through a passage over twenty zhang long, he arrived at the main hall of the mansion, a stone house about seven or eight zhang in size. Inside stood a kindly-looking gray-haired elder and a middle-aged man wearing a tall crown, both welcoming Han Li.
"Fellow cultivator Han, you’ve finally arrived," the gray-haired elder greeted him with a smile.
"Brother Han, you made us wait quite a long time. We each sent people out and have been searching for you here for over a month. Unfortunately, you appeared and disappeared like a ghost, leaving no trace. We almost thought you had changed your mind!" The marquis of Nanlong said with a wry smile, but there was a glimmer of joy in his eyes.
"Both of you live in such a hidden place, it’s naturally not easy for me to find you either. Besides, I had just secluded myself for cultivation for a period not long ago. It’s normal that you couldn’t find me," Han Li sighed and explained helplessly.
He then made himself comfortable, chatting with the two of them as they all took their seats.
"Brother Han, your reputation is now at its peak. Not only did you shine brilliantly in the border battle, but it’s said that even a mid nascent soul stage elder from the demon sect of Jin Kingdom was killed by you. With such great supernatural ability, you must have made this marquis suffer greatly by hiding it all this time," the marquis of Nanlong said, his expression strange as soon as Han Li sat down.
"As for my supernatural ability, fellow cultivator Nanlong, you have seen it before. If I truly had such great supernatural ability, I wouldn’t have fled in panic on the Mulan Prairie that day. My reputation now is just due to luck. Without some fortune, I wouldn’t be able to appear before you two today," Han Li naturally wouldn’t reveal everything truthfully; he shook his head and spoke vaguely.
Elder Lu and the marquis exchanged a glance, both half believing and half doubting.
With their spiritual awareness, they could clearly see Han Li’s cultivation base was still early nascent soul stage. They also knew Han Li was extraordinary, not an ordinary early-stage cultivator. But that Han Li could kill a mid nascent soul stage, perhaps even a top mid-stage demon cultivator, was still difficult for them to believe.
Yet, rumors about Han Li outside spread everywhere, his fame was terrifyingly great, which made them puzzled. Hence the strange expression on their faces.
"Heh heh! Fellow cultivator Han, you are too humble. Actually, the greater your supernatural ability, the more help you will be to our trip to Fallen Demon Valley. We both hope your cultivation base can rival the three great cultivators," the marquis of Nanlong said awkwardly, somewhat insincerely.
Han Li chuckled and didn’t get caught up with that topic.
On the other side, Elder Lu spoke in a deep voice:
"Brother Han, since you have decided to seek us out, it seems you have considered our previous suggestion. Are you willing to enter the valley and join us in killing that ancient fire toad?"
Hearing this, the marquis of Nanlong also fixed his gaze on Han Li, his face serious.
"Such a good opportunity, I do not want to let it pass easily. But before I truly decide, I must ask one thing. After we succeed, how will the treasures of that ancient cultivator’s remains be divided? If I am satisfied, I have no problem taking the risk," Han Li replied calmly and without showing any deviation on his face.
Though he definitely intended to go to Fallen Demon Valley, he did not reveal any hint, hoping to bargain with them a bit.
"If we truly obtain the treasures, how about dividing them equally among the three of us?" This question had obviously been considered many times by the marquis and elder. As soon as Han Li spoke it, Elder Lu responded without hesitation.
Han Li did not immediately agree or show dissatisfaction, but after pondering for a moment, he slowly said:
