Chapter 794: Han Li’s Return
The city closest to Changzhou was a large city called Yehua.
Although this city was thousands of miles away from the Myriad Ridge Mountain Range, many cultivators who were unwilling to camp outdoors still chose to stay here. The small immortal cultivator sect that had secretly occupied this city long ago was now so frightened that all its disciples had retreated behind the sect gates, pretending to be deaf and mute about everything related to the city.
There were quite a number of immortal cultivators gathered in this city, but with so many inns, these few cultivators had no trouble finding a place to stay.
One such inn, called the Hongfu Inn, was an ordinary establishment among them.
Two groups of cultivators had checked in, each renting out an independent courtyard room at the back of the inn.
Inside one of these courtyard rooms, three people were gathered around a wooden table, discussing something.
All three were young and beautiful female cultivators. They were Zi Ling and Mei Ning, who had parted ways with Han Li back in Tian Yi City, and the last was naturally a woman surnamed Song, who was close to them.
At this moment, Zi Ling looked dignified and graceful, but it was obvious that she had used secret arts to conceal her unparalleled beauty. To the casual observer, she appeared to be just an ordinary female cultivator with some good looks.
The three women wore serious expressions as they spoke softly.
Around the walls of the room, faint white lights flickered, indicating a formation had been set to prevent eavesdropping.
“Sister Song, have you received any news from Brother Han yet? The poisonous miasma will dissipate soon, and there isn’t much time left. If Brother Han doesn’t show up soon, we might miss the best opportunity to enter Fallen Demon Valley,” Zi Ling asked with furrowed brows and a hint of worry.
Her question was naturally directed at the woman in a white dress sitting opposite her — Ms. Song.
“Zi Ling, you know as well as I do, more than two years ago, our senior uncle Cheng publicly announced that Senior Uncle Han had secluded himself for healing. But in reality, I have a subtle feeling that Senior Uncle Han actually went to the far western land. I don’t know what business he has there, but just traveling there and back takes over a year. There’s no need to rush. Besides, we still have several months left. I have already left an exact contact address in the sect; as soon as Senior Uncle returns, he can find us immediately. If he wants to make it back on time, no cultivator in the far western land could hold back Senior Uncle Han,” Ms. Song said with a faint smile and calm composure.
“That’s hard to say. Even with Brother Han’s peerless cultivation base, some things can’t be solved with cultivation alone,” Zi Ling sighed, recalling the encounter in the land of darkness and shadows. Then, with a shift in her gaze, she added quickly,
“Sister Song, you always call him ‘Senior Uncle Han’ now, and seem unusually respectful all of a sudden. You weren’t like this before when talking about him,” Zi Ling teased, a faint playful smile appearing on her delicate face.
Ms. Song’s cheeks flushed slightly but she quickly regained her composure and said,
“If Zi Ling could slay a mid-stage nascent soul top-rank cultivator, I would be just as respectful to you. Senior Uncle Han is now second only to the three great cultivators in Tian Nan. As a junior, isn’t it normal to show a bit of respect?”
“Hehe! Of course it’s normal. After hearing about Brother Han’s exploits, I was quite shocked as well. Ten years ago, Brother Han was just like me — a foundation formation cultivator. But now he has such incredible magical abilities, making us look up to him. It’s unbelievable. If I had known earlier, I might have forced Mei Ning to marry him as his concubine. That way, Mei Ning’s future cultivation path would have been much smoother,” Zi Ling said with a teasing smile.
