Chapter 792: Before the Journey
Such tiny runes were definitely not something that the Tian Nan immortal cultivation world could forge nowadays. It seemed to be a rare ancient treasure!
Han Li thought this to himself, and with a flash of silver light in his hand, he first collected the two silver chains.
He planned to see if he could repair the chains sometime in the future and then test their power again.
After putting away the silver chains, Han Li lowered his head to look at the grotesque corpse ghoul body.
His expression grew slightly solemn. With a flick of his finger, ten strands of azure silk shot out, piercing various parts of the corpse ghoul’s body. Han Li began to carefully examine it.
After a while, Han Li showed a satisfied expression.
Apart from missing one arm, this corpse ghoul body was practically perfect for corpse refining. Not only was the body incredibly strong—ordinary magical treasures couldn’t harm it even slightly—but the corpse fire and corpse poison nurtured within were also formidable. Any immortal cultivator who came into contact with even a trace would die instantly.
However, looking at the ghoul’s severed arm, a thought crossed Han Li’s mind, and he pondered deeply.
Suddenly, he tapped his spiritual beast pouch, and a swarm of tricolor golddevourer worms surged out. After circling above his head, their buzzing grew loud.
Han Li raised his hand and formed a spell formation.
Immediately, under the command of his divine sense, the golddevourer worms darted fiercely towards the severed arm of the corpse ghoul. There, they condensed and transformed.
After a moment, a smooth tricolor arm appeared. Except for the color and the absence of green hair, the rest was identical to the other arm.
Han Li smiled slightly, showing a trace of satisfaction.
Next, he took out several stacks of formation flags and formation arrays from his storage pouch and, unhurriedly, began to lay down an extremely profound magic formation inside the stone chamber…
…
He stayed within the mountain’s belly for over two months. When Han Li reappeared inside the cave on Mother and Son Peak, his complexion was ghostly pale, seemingly drained of much vital energy.
After summoning Silver Moon, he said nothing and secluded himself again in the secret chamber, without mentioning the corpse ghoul.
Another month passed, and the door to the seclusion chamber opened once more. Han Li emerged with a calm expression.
“Master, the six-winged frost centipedes in the insect chamber have begun laying eggs,” Silver Moon, who had been waiting outside, respectfully reported as soon as she saw Han Li.
“Laying eggs, huh? Let me see,” Han Li said with a hint of joy after a brief pause.
He then strode towards the insect chamber, Silver Moon following gracefully behind.
From behind the chamber’s restrictive door, Han Li could clearly see everything inside.
The six-winged frost centipedes had evolved through mutual devouring since Liu Yu handed them over. Not only had their size increased by nearly half, but the cold energy they emitted far surpassed before.
Though not comparable to Han Li’s qian blue ice flame, for core formation stage cultivators, it was definitely lethal.
Of course, Han Li’s Purple Luo Heavenly Flame, which he cultivated by merging this cold energy, had also become somewhat more powerful.
The six-winged frost centipedes’ eggs were in the chamber’s center — jet black and shiny, about the size of a fist, encased in an ice block about a zhang long that sparkled and emitted faint cold air.
This was clearly caused by the cold energy expelled by the centipedes when laying eggs.
Han Li’s gaze swept over. Several huge centipedes inside seemed to sense something; they raised their heads and howled a few times toward the stone gate, trying to intimidate.
Han Li remained unmoved but carefully examined the eggs.
“There are twenty-four centipede eggs, that’s enough. Silver Moon, notify that registered disciple of mine to come. She can take her spiritual insects away now,” Han Li nodded in approval after confirming the egg count.
