Chapter 79: Interrogation
The burly man, holding the blue-clothed man like a small chick with one hand, steadily walked out of the forest. His clothes were stained with blood, the scattered crimson spots against the green robe resembling bright peach blossoms.
Li Feiyu gasped in shock.
The burly man took a few steps to stand in front of the two, then tossed the blue-clothed man onto the ground. Immediately, Li Feiyu was hit by a pungent metallic smell of blood.
His expression changed drastically, and he instinctively stepped back half a pace, adopting a defensive stance.
The burly man ignored Li Feiyu’s small movements. Instead, he took a stride and stood silently behind Han Li once again, motionless as if he had never left.
Only then did Li Feiyu let out a long breath and drop his posture. He glanced at the blue-clothed man on the ground, then at Han Li’s calm face, and suddenly smiled.
“I was wondering how you could stay so calm! Turns out you had such a great expert by your side all along! Why didn’t you tell me earlier? You had me nervous for nothing,” Li Feiyu said lightly on the surface, but inwardly he was guessing the relationship between Han Li and the green-robed burly man.
Han Li saw through his thoughts but had no intention of explaining. A faint, ambiguous smile appeared on his face as he leisurely said, “This blue-clothed enforcer probably knows a lot of information. Which of us should do the interrogation? I think you, Hall Master Li, are much more skilled at this than I am. The capable do more work, so I’ll leave it to you.”
Li Feiyu was a bit unwilling when Han Li changed the subject and showed no sign of introducing the burly man to him.
However, he was very interested in interrogating this enforcer. Hearing Han Li’s words, he agreed without objection.
Li Feiyu lightly picked up the unconscious blue-clothed man and slipped back into the forest to begin his demanding interrogation, while Han Li sat leisurely on the grass beneath him.
After a while, Li Feiyu came out alone, his face darkened.
“That quick? Any useful information?” Han Li asked without standing up, raising an eyebrow.
“Hmph! He’s a coward who fears death. I barely started, and he spilled everything. There are two pieces of news: one good, one bad. Which do you want to hear first?” Li Feiyu said gloomily.
“Tell me the good news first! I want to hear something to cheer me up,” Han Li said, clearly indifferent.
“The good news is, you really guessed the wild wolf gang’s plan correctly. They trapped all the other peaks without attacking, concentrating their main force at the foot of Sunset Peak, attacking desperately. I’ve heard they’ve already taken several checkpoints,” Li Feiyu said flatly, showing little concern for the safety of the higher-ups.
“If that’s the good news, no need to ask—the bad news must be terrible,” Han Li muttered, touching his nose.
“You’re quite the jinx, and you’re right. The bad news is that besides the wild wolf gang, the Iron Spear Society, Severing Water Sect, and several other medium and small gangs are attacking the mountain. Looks like our sect is really in big trouble,” Li Feiyu said.
Han Li was stunned upon hearing this; the news was beyond his expectations.
“Never mind how many are attacking. You should first meet with your little lover and your subordinates. Since it’s chaotic outside now, better get going quickly!” Han Li made a quick decision.
Li Feiyu nodded eagerly, this suggestion fitting perfectly with his plans.
“What did you do with that guy?” Han Li suddenly asked.
“Silenced him. You think we could bring him along?” Li Feiyu replied carelessly.
Han Li smiled slightly, propped one hand on the ground, and floated up from the grass.
“Let’s go! Avoid the enemies as much as possible. If you can’t avoid them, kill everyone who spots us without mercy. Otherwise, their numbers will just keep growing.” Han Li’s words came out casually but carried a murderous aura full of bloodthirstiness.
