Chapter 78: Slaughter in the Forest

"Are you done?" The moment Han Li stepped out of the house, Li Feiyu eagerly urged him.

Han Li gave Li Feiyu a cold glare, then walked over to a smaller room. Standing outside the tightly shut door, he said coolly, "Quhun, come out. We’ll need you tonight."

Before Han Li’s words had finished, there was a loud bang as if the wooden door was made of paper—it was shattered by someone from inside. Amidst the flying wood chips, a huge figure slowly stepped out.

Li Feiyu’s eyes went blank for a moment. He stared at the towering man before him, whose aura was like that of a demon, his face hidden beneath a hooded cloak. He was stunned.

The burly man silently moved behind Han Li.

"Let’s go!" Han Li smiled, now it was his turn to urge the dazed Li Feiyu.

"Oh!" Li Feiyu finally snapped back to reality.

He cast a strange look at Han Li, then glanced at the burly man, and silently led the way toward Outside the Valley without saying another word.

Han Li looked at Li Feiyu’s retreating figure, smiled faintly, then quickened his pace to catch up. The burly man Quhun closely followed behind, never leaving his side.

Han Li was very pleased with Li Feiyu’s tact. It was precisely because they respected each other’s privacy that they had formed such a close friendship.

The group walked quickly, and in no time they reached the valley entrance. Just as Li Feiyu was about to step into the forest, Han Li suddenly reached out his right hand and grabbed his shoulder, stopping him.

"What’s going on?" Li Feiyu asked, puzzled and a little annoyed. After all, he was anxious right now.

"Someone’s coming, and it’s not just one person," Han Li said calmly.

Li Feiyu was surprised and immediately focused his attention to listen, but after a long moment, he heard nothing.

He glanced at Han Li with a questioning look, but Han Li remained composed and gave no explanation.

"You…" Li Feiyu just opened his mouth to speak when Han Li suddenly raised a finger to his lips, signaling him to be silent.

Li Feiyu frowned. Though reluctant, he habitually obeyed and stayed quiet.

Shortly after, Li Feiyu’s expression grew serious. He turned to Han Li in amazement. He could finally hear a multitude of footsteps coming from outside the valley — there really were many people.

"Officer Sun! There’s a big bell and a small path at the edge of this forest. Looks like this is Divine Hand Valley the deputy order master mentioned," a rough voice came from the other side of the woods.

"Yes, judging by the map and this bell, this has to be the place. Remember this clearly: the order master gave a strict command to capture the divine doctor alive—no one is allowed to harm them. Anyone who disobeys will be punished according to gang rules. Got it?" another sharp voice, sounding like a rooster crowing, barked orders.

"Yes!"

"Yes!"

...

A series of affirmative responses followed. Judging by the voices, there were at least a dozen people, each with a strong and powerful voice, seemingly well skilled in martial arts.

"Except for one Blue-Clothed Enforcer, the rest are elite members of the wild wolf gang. The Blue-Clothed Enforcer is equivalent to our protector, while the elite members are like our inner disciples," Li Feiyu whispered, leaning close to Han Li to explain.

Li Feiyu knew his friend usually didn’t care about their enemies’ status, so he didn’t bother asking how Han Li heard the footsteps so early. Instead, he directly explained the enemy’s identity so Han Li would be alert and not let his guard down.

Han Li understood Li Feiyu’s intention and gave a light chuckle. He said nothing but his expression showed he wasn’t worried at all.

Li Feiyu grew anxious.

"With my current strength, I can handle the Blue-Clothed Enforcer alone, but with the others there’s no way I can win. I know you’re clever, so just tell me your plan quickly! Otherwise, it’ll be too late," Li Feiyu spoke quickly and softly, his tone urgent. The enemies had already entered the small forest and were moving toward where Han Li and the others stood.
