Chapter 772: The Seven Great Cultivators of Tai Zhen and the Sacred Bird
The woman surnamed Le lifted the ancient lamp into the air and offered a salute. With her apricot-shaped mouth slightly parted, a wisp of white nascent soul fire sprayed out and ignited the ancient lamp.
Her hands formed a lotus-shaped spell formation, and a low, obscure incantation slowly issued forth. Beneath her, a white lotus blossomed, resembling a celestial fairy gracefully poised above it.
The chanting was filled with an indescribable wild, primal aura. Suddenly, the bronze lamp trembled, and illusions flickered. Nine identical ancient lamps flashed into existence.
After swirling in formation, they arranged themselves in the shape of the character "品" (meaning "product" or "quality") and slowly rotated in the air.
Le’s jade fingers lightly flicked, sending nine differently colored spell formations onto the ancient lamps. Azure light burst forth, and nine lamp flames floated lightly from the lamps, converging at the center of the "品" character to form a head-sized azure flame.
With a soft "puff," the woman spat a mouthful of refined blood onto the azure flame. The fire suddenly surged, expanding by about a foot, dazzlingly bright and piercing.
After a moment, a clear cry rang out. A roughly foot-long azure bird emerged from the flame.
The bird was light and elegant, with long azure feathers and a pair of fiery red eyes that shone like sparkling gems—it was a magnificent azure peacock.
It looked around proudly and caught sight of the woman surnamed Le below. Tilting its neck slightly, it let out a sharp cry—a wild, ancient language from a bygone era.
Le bowed respectfully to the bird three times, uttering the same language from her mouth. They began to converse.
The gaunt old man watching this showed a hint of seriousness on his face.
Suddenly, the woman ceased speaking the ancient tongue. With a flip of her jade hand, she produced a pink, unidentified spherical bead emitting a strong fragrance. Its nature was unknown.
The azure peacock’s expression turned joyful upon seeing the bead. Opening its beak, a wisp of azure mist shot out, directly absorbing the bead.
With a "zzla" sound, a halo rose from the azure bird’s body, followed by blue flames erupting around it, transforming the bird into a gigantic firebird.
With a sharp cry, the bird spread its wings and soared into the sky. Within a ten-mile radius, the fire spiritual energy suddenly fluctuated. All cultivators and spellmasters wielding fire attribute cultivation techniques or spells noticed their spell power halved instantly, striking them with great shock!
Countless fire spiritual energies poured into the azure bird like rivers merging into an ocean. The bird’s body rapidly expanded, and its azure flames burned even more brilliantly.
All immortal cultivators within a ten-mile radius paused in astonishment, staring at the azure firebird. The temperature nearby spiked instantly. Even with various magical artifact shields, they felt as if standing next to a blazing furnace, causing fear in their hearts.
But when they saw the peacock in the azure fire, the spellmasters' faces lit up with wild joy.
“It’s a sacred bird! Master Le has summoned the sacred bird!”
“This battle is surely won!”
Some spellmasters shouted excitedly and launched frantic attacks on their opponents, their enthusiasm sky-high.
The gaunt old man also rarely smiled upon witnessing the divine power of the bird.
The black-robed woman from the Yin Luo Sect stared at the azure peacock in the flames. A strange expression flashed in her eyes before she suddenly said:
“The ability to manipulate heaven and earth’s fire spiritual energy—this sacred bird must be at least at the transformation spirit realm. No wonder you consider it a last resort. However, although its realm is high, its internal spiritual power was only around early nascent soul when it first appeared. Even after absorbing so much fire spiritual energy, it has barely reached the late nascent soul stage. This must be a clone of the original body, right? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have suffered such a heavy defeat against the Tuwo people.”
