Chapter 759: Spiritual Talismans and Flood Dragon Soul
When Wei Wuya suddenly arrived to see Master Zhiyang and casually mentioned Han Li in the main hall, Han Li himself had already reached the main entrance of the hall.
To his surprise, he immediately spotted Dong Xuan’er outside the hall door.
The young woman had somehow come out from the side hall and stood there with her head slightly bowed, as if lost in thought.
The cultivators guarding the door, knowing she had come with the Old Lunatic of Yunlu, naturally turned a blind eye, allowing her to stand outside without anyone paying her any mind.
As Han Li stepped out, Dong Xuan’er seemed to sense something and looked up.
Upon seeing Han Li, a strange expression flickered across her face, as if she was at a loss, mixed with a hint of jealousy.
This left Han Li somewhat puzzled.
Though a bit suspicious in his heart, Han Li had nothing to say to her and walked past her as if she wasn’t there, heading leisurely toward the distant street.
Dong Xuan’er remained rooted in place, gently biting her red lips and watching Han Li’s retreating figure without uttering a word.
After turning a corner, Han Li noticed the gaze behind him disappear, and he subconsciously frowned and shook his head.
“Master, do you know that female cultivator?” a voice suddenly spoke in his mind. It was Silver Moon, sounding puzzled.
“She was an old acquaintance from back then, but our relationship wasn’t very good,” Han Li replied casually.
“Is that so? But judging by her expression toward you, it seems you two had a special connection. Could it be that you were once—” Silver Moon began teasing with a smile but deliberately left the sentence unfinished.
“Don’t guess recklessly. I don’t have a good impression of her. We were even adversaries back then,” Han Li said with some displeasure, snorting coldly.
Silver Moon chuckled softly and sent a playful grimace to Han Li, then wisely fell silent.
Ever since Han Li saved Silver Moon and did not pry into the matter of her Purple Cheng Net and Flower Basket Ancient Treasure being taken, she had clearly grown much closer to him.
Though still not daring to be too presumptuous, she had evidently opened up part of her heart to Han Li.
Han Li naturally sensed this and trusted her much more as well. Their relationship had improved significantly compared to the beginning.
…
After returning to the Luoyun Sect base, Han Li naturally recapped the discussion from the hall to Lv Luo briefly.
“Junior brother, why risk participating in the gambling battle? Those Geng Essences are rare and precious, but they are still external objects. What if something happens to you? What would we do then!” Lv Luo immediately showed concern upon hearing Han Li’s plan to join the gambling battle.
Han Li smiled slightly and said lightly, “Senior Brother Lv, rest assured. If I’m willing to take part, I have at least an eighty or ninety percent confidence I can come back unscathed. Otherwise, I wouldn’t agree so readily. As for the upcoming battle seven days from now, I won’t be able to focus on the safety of our other disciples. That will fall entirely to you.”
“I will take good care of the disciples during the battle. You don’t have to worry. Since you have such confidence about the gambling battle, I won’t say much else. But if you need anything before the battle, just order the disciples under me to handle it,” Lv Luo said, his expression somewhat relieved.
Han Li smiled, then after some thought slowly said, “For this battle, I do need to prepare something. Some special materials — I’m afraid I’ll need a few junior disciples to help me collect them.”
Han Li didn’t hesitate and took out a Jade Slip he had prepared from his storage pouch, handing it to Lv Luo.
“Don’t worry. As long as the materials can be found in Tian Yi City, I’ll definitely help you gather them,” Lv Luo said without hesitation upon receiving the Jade Slip.
Han Li felt a slight warmth in his heart. After nodding, they chatted briefly before he took his leave.
