Chapter 717: The Ring
Nangong Wan’s crimson full moon was clearly no match for it. A black-and-white long rainbow carved out a long arc in the air and instantly reached the ceiling of the hall, striking fiercely.
With a muffled “bang,” the red light hesitated but did not break through. Only some stone fragments drifted down.
The icy woman was taken aback. Before she could figure out what was happening, a flash of light appeared at the top. Swarms of tri-colored flying insects darted out, buzzing rapidly as they converged in the center, forming a massive tri-colored shield.
The icy woman’s heart jolted in surprise. Without hesitation, she flicked her hand, producing a silver-patterned talisman between her fingers.
Nangong Wan, watching from below, naturally understood her Senior Sister’s intention. Her jade-like face darkened. Without asking about the Reincarnation Divine Light, she reached one hand to her waist, conjuring a small, crimson flag in her palm. She decisively flicked it onto the ground beneath her feet.
With a “zhizliu” sound, the little flag transformed into a plume of red smoke, quickly burrowing into the earth.
At this moment, the icy woman waved her jade hand, activating the talisman’s magical ability. It was enveloped in a hazy yellow glow, rushing upward like a shooting star.
With a “puchi” sound, the yellow light pierced through the giant shield as if it was nothing, directly escaping toward the hall’s ceiling behind.
But almost simultaneously, Nangong Wan chanted a spell, activating the hidden formation within the secluded mansion.
The entire hall flashed red, and a dazzling red light veil appeared on the walls. Even the ceiling and the bluestone floor shimmered continuously.
This red light seemed to be the bane of the yellow light the icy woman had unleashed. When the yellow light collided with the veil, instead of escaping immediately, the mingling red and yellow lights intertwined like magnets, and the red light swarmed, wrapping the yellow orb tightly.
Nangong Wan’s Senior Sister was horrified but, as a seasoned cultivator, quickly realized what formation this was.
At once, the face within the yellow light grew solemn. She snapped her fingers, releasing a cold, piercing white sword radiance that shot out. After circling outside once, the red light immediately scattered.
The icy woman rejoiced; the yellow light flashed, and she broke through the red light’s confinement, quickly escaping to the ceiling.
But just as her figure was halfway through, a flash of purple light appeared. Suddenly, something descended, enveloping her and trapping her within.
With a sudden pull, she was forcibly dragged out from the hall’s top.
Then came a soft chuckle. A white shadow flickered, revealing a young woman in white, who emerged from above.
In one delicate hand, she held a crystal-clear purple thread, the other end connected to the icy woman.
At this moment, the great elder of the Moon Veil Sect realized what was wrapped around the icy woman—a net emitting a faint purple glow.
This treasure was elusive, flickering between visible and invisible.
The icy woman, furious and startled, didn’t think twice. She snapped her fingers, releasing over ten black-and-white sword energies. Then, still uneasy, she opened her mouth and bizarrely expelled a mass of verdant flames, striking the purple net.
The faint purple light blazed brightly, and whether the black-and-white sword energies or the green flames, the purple net remained intact, entirely unharmed.
Now truly panicked, the icy woman was about to grit her teeth and perform some secret art that severely drained vital energy to break free, when the young woman in white chuckled softly and tugged the purple thread. She parted her fragrant lips uttering the word “tighten.”
The once-loose net abruptly contracted, tightening its hold.
The trapped woman was further restrained, unable to move an inch.
Her face flushed deep red. Since forming her nascent soul, she had always been admired by other cultivators. She had never encountered such a situation, let alone as a mid nascent soul stage cultivator.
