Chapter 705: Constraining the Earth Spirit Dragon
The wind raged fiercely, as if the very heavens were changing color, instantly blowing the magical treasures of the five cultivators into a chaotic disarray. As for the cultivators themselves, they were trapped within the violent wind’s control, unable to break free no matter how hard they struggled.
“Haha! Refusing to drink the offered wine and insisting on the bitter cup, forcing this elder to make a fuss before stopping — truly reckless,” the bald spellmaster laughed loudly, his face brimming with pride.
Then, with a single hand reaching into the void and grasping at the wind, a huge yellow hand suddenly materialized out of the raging storm, fiercely lunging toward the stunning female cultivator trapped inside.
His plan was clear: capture the female cultivator he had set his sights on alive first, then use thunderous means to swiftly annihilate the remaining four without hesitation.
The female cultivator, whose skin was as smooth as congealed cream and whose face shone with beauty, was wielding a fiery red flying sword treasure. At this moment, seeing the giant hand descending directly on her while her flying sword spun uncontrollably in the wild wind, she was powerless to control it or save herself. Her delicate face instantly turned pale.
Though the other four cultivators tried to rescue her, they were similarly disoriented by the howling wind, losing control. Only the stout old man, with the deepest cultivation base among them, fared somewhat better. Anxious, he barely managed to raise one hand and release a several-foot-long arc of electricity, striking the side of the giant hand.
But the attack vanished without effect, like a mud ox entering the sea.
Just as the huge yellow hand was about to grab the woman without mercy, it suddenly dissipated and vanished about a yard above her head. At the same time, a furious shout echoed from the yellow-robed spellmaster nearby, and the hurricane imprisoning the cultivators rapidly diminished until it disappeared entirely, as if it had never existed.
It was as if the fierce wind and the giant hand had only been an illusion.
Everyone exchanged glances and naturally looked toward the bald spellmaster, only to see him turn his gaze to an empty spot far away, his face filled with rage.
They were stunned.
“Since you dare to break my spell, why hide like cowards and not show yourselves?” The yellow-robed spellmaster’s fierce expression flickered before he suppressed his anger and shouted loudly, no longer paying attention to the female cultivator or the others.
“It's not that I was hiding, but that your cultivation base isn’t strong enough to perceive my presence,” came a calm male voice from the empty space. “It seems you just recently advanced to the nascent soul stage. Compared to the spellmasters I’ve met before, you’re quite far behind.”
With a flash of azure light, an ordinary-looking young cultivator appeared — Han Li himself.
Earlier, seeing the five trapped and the situation turning critical, he had unceremoniously unleashed a distant azure sword qi blast that instantly struck the feather fan treasure, sending it flying.
The hurricane naturally dispersed with ease.
The stout old man and the others were first shocked to see Han Li appear, then greatly relieved upon sensing his nascent soul stage cultivation base, knowing their lives were saved.
The female cultivator hurriedly bowed from afar and respectfully said, “Junior Nie Ying thanks senior for your lifesaving aid.”
“Nie Ying!” Han Li cast a sidelong glance at her, faintly recalling the name.
But now was not the time for conversation, so he waved his hand to let her stand.
It seemed neither she nor the old man recognized him at first glance.
This was understandable. Originally, he had only met them once, and nearly two hundred years had passed since; it was not surprising they didn’t recognize him.
After this consideration, Han Li turned his head and said coolly to the yellow-robed spellmaster, “Since you’re not leaving, do you want me to force you out?”
