Chapter 67: Fireball Technique
Han Li, who had been motionless for quite some time, suddenly raised his right hand and held up a single finger straight up, which struck people as somewhat puzzling.
But shortly after, half an inch above his fingertip, a slight spatial ripple appeared, and tiny sparks suddenly materialized out of thin air. As soon as the sparks showed up, they immediately sizzled, transforming through the twisted space into a red fireball about the size of a walnut. Although the fireball was small, a surge of intense heat followed its appearance, quickly filling the entire room.
Han Li lay still with a book covering his face, as if asleep, but the small fireball on his fingertip continuously hissed and crackled with burning heat. Compared to his motionless hand, the fireball stood out vividly.
Time passed minute by minute, yet the fireball maintained its vigorous energy, showing no sign of extinguishing. However, Han Li finally showed a different reaction. His fingertip bearing the fireball trembled slightly at first, then gradually, his wrist, entire arm, and even his whole body began to shake.
Suddenly, Han Li sat upright in the grand armchair, not even noticing the book slipping off his face onto the floor.
His eyes locked tightly on the small fireball on his fingertip, his face flushed bright red. The exposed skin from his forehead to his neck was dotted with sweat, as if he had just finished some intense physical exertion, his entire body radiating heat.
After a while, amidst Han Li’s violent trembling, the fireball began to flicker, flames growing larger and smaller erratically, unable to maintain stability. Soon, it shrank, turning back into sparks before vanishing into the air.
As soon as the fireball disappeared, Han Li slumped back into the chair, looking utterly exhausted, as if he had just completed a tremendously taxing task.
“This Fireball Technique really is hard to practice! I’ve studied it for nearly half a year, yet still haven’t fully grasped its essence. I’ve only managed to extend the duration of its appearance a little,” Han Li muttered, staring at the ceiling.
It turned out that the last few pages of the Everlasting Spring Technique manual recorded several simple spells. These were obviously beginner-level spells for immortal cultivators, but to Han Li, they were treasured treasures, keeping him excited and sleepless for several nights.
No wonder he was so thrilled. Ever since witnessing Doctor Mo perform a few spells, Han Li had been fascinated by these incredible and powerful mystic arts.
But the poor Han Li, despite possessing peak-level cultivation of the sixth stage of the Everlasting Spring Technique, was like a beggar holding a golden bowl—he had no idea about any casting methods, and didn’t even understand the basic principles of spellcasting. Now, suddenly discovering several spell incantations suitable for beginners like him was truly a joyous surprise.
The final pages of the manual recorded five spells: Fireball Technique, Calming Talisman, Wind Riding Technique, Telekinesis Technique, and Heaven’s Eye Technique. To Han Li, every phrase in these incantations was archaic and profound, difficult to comprehend.
This was understandable since the spell incantations were written in an ancient style of grammar and vocabulary. Although Han Li had read many books, his knowledge in this area was shallow, so grasping their meanings at once was impossible.
Helpless, Han Li finally mustered the same diligence he had when learning the Everlasting Spring Technique, diving into stacks of classical literature, studying day and night. He painstakingly pondered over every phrase and word dozens of times, ensuring he fully understood their true meanings without any ambiguity.
Even though he had never learned to cast spells before, Han Li knew well that such immensely powerful energies could be far more dangerous than qi deviation. A single mistake might cost him his life instantly. For his own safety, he had to be extremely cautious, not daring to be careless for even a moment.
