Chapter 659: Fourth Great-Uncle

With a muffled “bang,” a massive fist struck Han Li’s back with force.

At first, the burly man was pleased, but his expression quickly changed.

A flash of azure light appeared, and the burly man was sent flying backward as if hit by a giant hammer.

The middle-aged scholar’s face changed dramatically, then turned to shock.

Because the large man had just been sent hurtling toward him, but suddenly his movement slowed, and he landed lightly on both feet as if unharmed.

“Brother Li, are you alright? Did you suffer any internal injury?” Although the scholar was a weak and powerless man, he often interacted with the man surnamed Li and knew that in the martial world, many skills could injure a person invisibly. So he asked with concern.

“I’m fine, no injuries. His skills are profound, but he doesn’t seem to have any ill intent,” the man surnamed Li said softly, taking a deep breath, feeling his body was completely unharmed, though still suspicious.

Hearing this, the scholar felt a bit relieved, nodded, and then turned to look at Han Li.

“This brave warrior, I am Han Tianxiao, head of the Han family. May I ask if you came here specifically to wait for me?” The scholar said calmly, without a trace of nervousness.

“Head of the Han family!”

Han Li finally turned around slowly.

“Ah, you…”

“Impossible!”

“Hmph! What do you mean by that?”

Before Han Li could say anything, the scholar and the burly man both recognized Han Li’s appearance and exclaimed simultaneously. But soon the scholar’s expression darkened as he recalled something.

The burly man was startled and then showed a similar displeased expression.

“You recognize me?” Han Li frowned and asked.

His gaze swept over the two men, trying to find some shadow of someone familiar, but after a bitter smile, he failed.

“Are you asking knowingly? Since you disguised yourself as our Han family’s fourth great-uncle based on the portrait, why not admit it openly?” The scholar stared at Han Li and spoke word by word.

“Fourth great-uncle?” Han Li’s expression turned into a faint, enigmatic smile. When he was young, he ranked fourth in the family, so naturally, the fourth great-uncle referred to him.

What he didn’t understand was that since reaching adulthood, he hadn’t met his relatives face-to-face. How did these later generations of the Han family know his appearance?

“Oh! When did I say I am your fourth great-uncle? Just because I naturally look like this, isn’t that possible?” Han Li smiled faintly.

“There are indeed many people who look alike, but to look exactly like an ancestor and appear in our Han Family Ancestral Hall — you are the only one,” the scholar said coldly, his anger quickly subsiding.

“Well said! Truly worthy of a government official. The Han family’s current prosperity is indeed thanks to you descendants!” Han Li’s expression softened, and he praised them.

“What? Are you really planning to impersonate an ancestor?” The scholar’s eyes flashed with hostility and anger.

“Impersonate? I am who I am. Why would I pretend? You tell me, how do you know my face? I left home early; my family shouldn’t know what I look like. Could it be that someone from the seven mysteries sect painted your portraits? Hey, you’re surnamed Li. What’s your relationship with Li Feiyu back then?” Han Li’s gaze shifted to the curly-bearded burly man, narrowing his eyes. Finally, he sensed a familiar look between his brows.

“You… how do you know our clan patriarch’s name? So you even know our Li family’s affairs so well?” The burly man was stunned, then his face showed a mix of anger and surprise.

Han Li smiled ambiguously without commenting.

“Since you claim to be our fourth great-uncle, you must know that this uncle left the family young and later disappeared. After so many years, does that mean you are over two hundred years old? I don’t see such an appearance of great age on you,” the scholar said hesitantly upon hearing Han Li mention the seven mysteries sect and Li Feiyu. He was surprised and suspicious.
