Chapter 613: Master, Servant, and Artifact Spirit

"Judging from your cultivation techniques and magical abilities today, did you deliberately let me, at the early foundation formation stage, capture you back in the Void Heaven Hall so I could obtain the Jade Ruyi Scepter?" Han Li raised his eyebrows and asked the young woman instead of directly answering her.

Silver Moon was momentarily stunned by his words but soon smiled with a sparkle in her eyes.

"As the artifact spirit of the Jade Ruyi Scepter, I cannot sustain long-distance flight by myself. To leave that Void Heaven Hall, a cultivator must carry the Ruyi on their person. When you captured me back then, on one hand, I did not resist with full strength. On the other, breaking through the Void Heaven Cauldron greatly depleted my cultivation. Even if I had fought desperately, I would have eventually fallen into the hands of those nascent soul stage cultivators. If that were to happen, I’d rather be captured by a foundation formation cultivator like you," Silver Moon explained with a smile.

"Back then, the foundation formation cultivators weren’t just me alone; there were two others. Why did you choose me?" Han Li pondered briefly and asked in a low, steady voice.

"Are you referring to the young man surnamed Wu who died fighting over the Void Heaven Cauldron and the other fellow who practiced the path of the undead?" Silver Moon’s expression shifted slightly as she countered.

"That’s right."

"I didn’t like either of them — one was gloomy and full of ghost energy, the other was scrawny and hideous. While you’re not exactly a model cultivator, at least you looked presentable. Does that reason satisfy you?" Silver Moon’s smile was both sincere and teasing.

Han Li couldn’t help but laugh wryly.

"If you don’t want to say, I won’t force it. Let me ask the most important question then. After I took this Jade Ruyi Scepter out of the Void Heaven Hall, did you watch all my actions over the years through the storage pouch?" Han Li’s voice suddenly turned cold, and even the room’s temperature seemed to drop noticeably.

"Yes. I have observed every detail — your cultivation techniques, your magical treasures, even that mysterious Defying Heaven Small Bottle. I know it all clearly," Silver Moon’s smile faded, replaced by a solemn expression.

Though Han Li had some vague suspicions, hearing this directly from her changed his expression drastically. His face darkened, and he stared coldly at the woman opposite him, silent as if contemplating a countermeasure.

"Han Dao Friend, did you kill to silence me? If those prominent immortal cultivator sects knew such a defying heaven-grade treasure existed, you’d probably be dead with no grave," Silver Moon said lightly, ignoring his icy demeanor.

Han Li narrowed his eyes, his gaze sharp as a blade.

"Since Silver Moon is fully aware, and still dares to say this so brazenly, aren’t you afraid I’ll destroy your host artifact? If your form and spirit are destroyed, you won’t leak anything anymore. Or do you have some other means, thinking I’m incapable of killing you?" Han Li’s face showed a deadly aura.

"With your current magical treasures and abilities, even before I performed the soul devour technique, I was unlikely a match for you. Now, after the soul devour, my artifact spirit cultivation is mostly lost following the body-snatching. If we fought, I’d only have about a 30% chance of winning, which is already good. Besides, the host artifact is in your hands. Erasing me is just a thought away for you," Silver Moon shook her head calmly, discussing matters concerning her life and death without panic.

Han Li snorted coldly and said nothing. Silver Moon continued unbothered:

"Han Dao Friend has tolerated me so far without striking. That’s already very satisfactory to Silver Moon. You might not be the perfect gentleman, but you clearly distinguish between favors and grudges. If I hadn’t just blocked that demonic fox’s strike, you wouldn’t have given me this chance to talk so much nonsense." A faint smile appeared on her lips.
