Chapter 608: The Shape Transformation Jade and the Golden Talisman Jade Box
Han Liâs face flushed slightly upon hearing these words.
âIf itâs just to deliver a letter, I, the junior, am willing to help.â Such a simple task was naturally something he wouldnât refuse.
The young Black-Clad Young Woman seemed very pleased with this response. Without saying more, she raised her hand, and the black box was carried steadily toward Han Li by a cluster of green light.
Han Li reached out and took the black box. Scanning it with his spiritual awareness, he found it brimming with spiritual energyâit indeed seemed to be a Spirit Eye Jade.
Given his cautious nature, he insisted on personally verifying the item before accepting it.
A flash of azure light appeared on his hand, and he gently tapped the lid of the box. The black box automatically opened.
Inside was a pure white glow, and a surge of refined pure spiritual energy instantly filled the entire stone chamber.
Moved by curiosity, Han Li carefully examined the contents of the box.
Within the gentle white light lay a white jade stone several inches in size, shimmering constantly.
What surprised Han Li was that inside this translucent jade, there was a tiny blue calf, about the size of a thumb, moving its head and tail as if aliveâan incredibly vivid sight.
Han Li stared in astonishment.
âHow is it? This Spirit Eye Jade of mine is a treasure nearing the birth of a shape-transforming entity. Ordinary Spirit Eye Stones cannot compare to it at all. If you cultivate with this item, your results will be far beyond the effort invested,â the young woman said with a slight smile, noticing Han Liâs shock. A flicker of something unusual passed through her bright eyes.
âIndeed. With this, I wouldnât need decades to advance. Just over ten years would suffice to reach the false nascent soul realm,â Han Li said calmly, after taking a few more glances at the Spirit Eye Jade in the jade box and then closing the lid.
Only then did he realize the truth. The Snow Cloud Fox must have been infused with the spiritual energy of the Spirit Eye Jade, which explained the faint pure spiritual energy surrounding it. Its evolution into a demonic fox was probably closely related to this treasure.
Han Liâs composed demeanor slightly startled the young woman, who was momentarily taken aback and gave him a long, appraising look.
âAlright, the treasure has been given to you. Take this Jade Slip as well. Behind the stone platform Iâm sitting on, there is another jade box. Thereâs a sealing talisman attached to it. You only need to tear off that talisman and then hand the jade box to me. Inside that box is a token that you must take along,â she said casually, brushing back the dark strands of hair from her forehead.
âYou want me to retrieve your item?â Han Li was taken aback and showed a hint of suspicion.
âHmph! You still think I would harm you? If I could get it myself, would I ask you to help?â The young woman sneered unhappily and suddenly lifted the long skirt covering her knees.
Han Liâs expression changed drastically as he took in the sight.
Two withered, skeletal legs, as thin as a babyâs arms, were crossed beneath her. The skin was dry and taut, showing not a trace of flesh, appearing ghastly and terrifying. Even more disturbing, several shimmering silver-white crystalline chains were wrapped tightly around these useless legsâone end piercing through the bone, the other buried deep beneath the stone platform.
Han Li licked his lips and looked up at the woman, still filled with shock and doubt but refraining from asking anything. He knew she would explain.
Sure enough, though her face was cold as frost, after lowering her skirt, she spoke dryly:
âI built this stone chamber within the Stone Mountain from lapis lazuli and used these chains to bind my feetâto imprison myself.â
âImprison yourself?â Han Li was momentarily stunned, puzzled.
âThatâs right. The âShadowkill Spell Formationâ I cultivate isnât like ordinary cultivation techniques. While itâs quick to master and incredibly powerful, it has a fatal flaw: once mastered, it causes the cultivator to lose their sense of self and become bloodthirsty.
