Chapter 605: The Fox Appears
Han Li calmly descended last, watching as the others ahead of him took pills to dispel the miasma, a faint smile appearing on his face.
With his constitution refined by the marrow cleansing classic, the miasma naturally cleared from his body with every breath.
At this moment, several people landed at a low altitude just over ten zhang above the ground and began flying toward the center of the basin.
“That demonic fox is extremely cunning. If we want to catch it, we only have one chance. So we must find a wide open place where it can’t escape, then set up a formation. Not far ahead, there’s a patch of flat, solid mud. That way, it won’t be able to dig into the mud and run away,” Senior Brother Wang said confidently. He had already planned this strategy well in advance.
The others naturally accepted Senior Brother Wang as their leader and had no objections. Han Li, however, just smiled silently.
After a short time, the five of them arrived at a flat area covered with lush green grass. A little further away were some sparse, low shrubs.
This time, before Senior Brother Wang could speak, Kui Huan and the others instinctively landed on the grass and began examining the surroundings.
After some discussion, Kui Huan walked to the center of the grassland and dug a small pit. Carefully, he took out some Solomon’s Seal from his storage bag—half of it was buried in the pit, with the rest exposed above the ground. He scattered some loose soil on top to make it look natural.
Immediately, a faint medicinal fragrance spread out.
“Good, this will do. The snow cloud fox has a keen sense of smell. With fifty-year-old Solomon’s Seal’s medicinal properties, even if it’s buried three feet underground, it will find it on its own. Oh, here’s a Misty Trace Flag, Junior Brother Han, keep this safe,” Kui Huan said, standing up and clapping his hands in satisfaction. Suddenly, as if remembering something, he pulled out a white formation flag from his storage bag and handed it to Han Li.
Han Li nodded and took the small flag calmly. At this moment, Senior Brother Wang began giving instructions to everyone.
“Everyone, take positions high in the air. Once the demonic fox appears, at my command, simultaneously throw down the flags to temporarily trap this entire grassland with an illusion formation. I believe this fox recently advanced to a demonic beast; it won’t be able to break out,” Senior Brother Wang said solemnly.
The others nodded in agreement.
The group then rode their magical artifacts to about fifty or sixty zhang in the air and hovered there motionless. They each cast basic invisibility spells to conceal their forms, holding their formation flags tightly.
With such a large sum of spirit stones at stake, Kui Huan and the others were all tense, staring fixedly downward without blinking.
Even Senior Brother Wang himself looked sharp-eyed and grave.
Compared to them, Han Li appeared the most relaxed. He held the white formation flag in one hand, the other casually rested behind his back, his gaze leisurely scanning the surroundings.
But in reality, Han Li’s spiritual awareness already covered a radius of several hundred zhang. Any slightest movement would be detected first by him.
Thus, the place instantly became completely silent; not a single sound could be heard.
...
Over an hour passed without any sign of movement.
Kui Huan, standing on his magical artifact, stretched his stiff neck and showed faint impatience on his face.
He glanced at Senior Brother Wang, hesitating to speak, but after thinking it over, he kept silent.
After all, to catch that demonic fox, waiting a little longer seemed acceptable.
Half an hour later, just as most people were growing restless, Han Li, standing still on his artifact, suddenly moved his expression and glanced toward a nearby shrub.
Kui Huan could no longer contain himself; licking his lips, he prepared to speak to the others.
But at that moment, Han Li’s cold voice came into his ear.
