Chapter 596: Entering the Sect (Part 1)
Among these three sects, Han Li’s first choice was not the Luoyun Sect, but the Hundred Skills Courtyard, which was renowned in the immortal cultivation world for refining magical artifacts.
This sect, besides having its own unique cultivation techniques, was exceptionally skilled at refining magical artifacts of various ranks. It was even rumored to possess several top-tier magical treasure refining methods.
Back then, the first family of Yue Country, the Yan Family, had the "Heaven and Earth Tower" Talisman Treasure, whose original form was produced using one of these artifact refining methods. It was a fairly famous magical treasure.
This fact stirred Han Li’s interest.
Unfortunately, this sect’s recruitment of disciples was similar to that of the Seven Sects of Yue Country, mainly accepting disciples from established cultivator families, rarely recruiting outsiders. Moreover, the sect was essentially controlled jointly by the five most powerful cultivator families, occupying a mountain range in the western part of Yunmeng Mountain.
This made Han Li somewhat regretful, and he had to give up on it.
The Ancient Sword Sect, as the name suggests, was highly skilled in sword techniques. Their magical artifacts and treasures were all various sizes and types of swords. Their signature supreme technique, the Taibai Sword Art, was famously sharp and renowned throughout Xi Country.
The Ancient Sword Sect did not solely recruit family disciples; they also accepted young rogue cultivators. However, their cultivation techniques and sword arts demanded very high spiritual root aptitude. Those with slightly inferior spiritual roots simply could not cultivate the various techniques inside the sect. So although they recruited disciples more frequently, they had the fewest disciples among the three sects.
But once an Ancient Sword Sect disciple’s cultivation base was established, their sword cultivation’s overwhelming offensive power made cultivators of the same level often no match for them. Therefore, it was the most powerful among the three sects and naturally occupied the main mountain range of Yunmeng Mountain.
The last sect, Luoyun Sect, in some ways, was somewhat similar to the Hundred Skills Courtyard. Their cultivation techniques were broad but superficial, yet they were highly reputed in pill refining.
The legendary Spirit-Stabilizing Pill could only be refined by a few elders of this sect in Xi Country.
Thus, despite their strength being far behind the other two sects, the Luoyun Sect managed to barely hold a foothold in the eastern part of Yunmeng Mountain.
Moreover, Luoyun Sect accepted the most disciples and had the lowest entry threshold among the three sects.
Basically, they had only two conditions for recruiting disciples.
Either one had decent spiritual root aptitude and cultivation potential, in which case the Luoyun Sect, like other sects, was very willing to accept them; or one already had a certain cultivation foundation, having progressed to a relatively high stage in basic cultivation techniques. Even if their spiritual roots were poor, the sect would still accept them.
After all, besides pill refining, Luoyun Sect was involved in various miscellaneous arts such as talisman crafting and formation arrays, which required large numbers of low-level disciples to operate continuously.
Many rogue cultivators in the qi refining stage, despite having poor spiritual roots, knew that entering a sect offered little future, likely remaining low-level disciples forever. But like Han Li, they thought it better to seek shelter under a big tree and so quite a few chose to enter the Luoyun Sect.
Judging from this, Luoyun Sect was the most lenient in taking disciples among the three, and combined with the lure of the legendary Spirit-Stabilizing Pill, it seemed the most suitable sect to join.
After some hesitation and a bit of inquiry, Han Li learned that this sect would soon recruit disciples again, so he no longer hesitated.
