Chapter 593: A Gesture of Submission
Before them lay a sea beast about three to four zhang long, with blue-green armored scales and tiny sharp teeth. Its pair of huge, swollen eye sockets gave it a fierce appearance. Most striking of all, beneath its gills grew a pair of curved, pointed bony spines, making it look even more menacing.
Han Li lowered his posture and carefully examined the sea beast’s corpse several times. Suddenly, a flash of azure light appeared, and a sword radiance sliced through the middle of the body, instantly cutting it in two.
Han Li then reached out his hand with a beckoning motion, and a black, tar-like object flew into his palm. Without hesitation, he brought it to his nose and inhaled softly. A peculiar spicy scent wafted up, faintly mingled with a subtle fragrance.
“As expected, it’s a Fragrant Fang Beast,” Han Li murmured with a strange expression as he casually tossed the object aside.
“A Fragrant Fang Beast?” Zi Ling was momentarily stunned and exchanged a glance with Mei Ning.
Both women’s faces showed traces of confusion. This was the first time they had ever heard of such a name.
“You two naturally wouldn’t know about this sea beast. They are a unique and peculiar deep-sea species found only here. You won’t find them in the Chaotic Star Sea,” Han Li explained with a faint smile, sensing their surprise.
“Judging by Brother Han’s tone, could it be that this place is no longer the Chaotic Star Sea?” Zi Ling furrowed her brow with some gravity and asked.
“That’s right. This place really isn’t the Chaotic Star Sea. Although I’ve never been here before, I’ve heard people mention it. If I’m not mistaken, this should be the Boundless Sea,” Han Li said, scanning the murky sea surface before nodding wryly. Then he looked up at the sky, lost in thought, as if recalling something.
“Boundless Sea!” The name was completely unfamiliar to them.
“Brother Han seems to have some understanding of this sea. Could you perhaps tell us a little about this place?” Zi Ling asked with a gentle smile after some contemplation.
“Of course, no problem,” Han Li replied calmly, suppressing the inexplicable feelings in his heart.
“The Boundless Sea is actually the colloquial name given by the people of Tian Nan. As the name suggests, almost no one has ever been able to reach its boundaries. It…” Han Li leisurely recounted the rumors about the Boundless Sea in great detail, while quietly pondering some long-buried questions in his mind.
“From what Brother Han says, the Boundless Sea should be at the northern edge of the so-called Tian Nan region. Moreover, it’s not just scarce in fish and shrimp, but even islands are rarely found,” Zi Ling said in astonishment.
“That’s right. And the worst part is, without any islands, we can’t precisely determine our current location, nor do we know how far we are from the mainland of Tian Nan,” Han Li rubbed his nose and said calmly.
Upon hearing this, the two women exchanged uneasy glances.
“No matter what, we won’t have to worry about a shortage of spirit stones in the short term. We should just fly south as much as possible. Hopefully, the mainland isn’t too far away,” Han Li decided after some thought.
“That’s all we can do. Let’s hope fortune favors us!” Zi Ling agreed with a helpless look on her pale, jade-like face. Naturally, Mei Ning had no objections.
With their direction confirmed, the three immediately took flight, heading south.
Several days later, Mei Ning and Zi Ling fully trusted Han Li’s judgment.
Because along the way, just as Han Li had said, not a single island appeared. The sea was lifeless everywhere, and aside from a few fierce sea beasts, no demonic beasts were seen at all.
This strange situation amazed the two women, who had never encountered anything like it before.
Perhaps because of the shared hardships, the three got along very well, chatting and laughing throughout the journey. Han Li, facing these two beauties, sometimes couldn’t help but feel his heart flutter.
