Chapter 592: Escape

On a vast flat rock near the summit of Stormwind Mountain, a silver giant ape over ten zhang tall beat its chest with both fists and roared into the sky. Beneath its enormous figure stood Han Li and his companions.

Han Li stared solemnly at the sky without a word, while the two women’s faces were deathly pale, faintly showing signs of panic.

Above the giant rock, more than a thousand yin beasts with fleshy wings hovered and circled. The larger ones were five to six zhang in size, while the smaller ones were only about a foot long. Yet, every single one had a fierce and terrifying appearance.

However, these flying yin beasts seemed to fear the terrifying aura of the wailing soul beast’s giant ape form. For the moment, they dared not swoop down, but they showed no sign of leaving either, resulting in a tense stalemate.

Han Li felt no relief at all.

From the greedy, bloodshot eyes of these yin beasts, he could tell their patience was wearing thin. At any moment, they might swarm down in an uncontrollable frenzy.

Inwardly cursing the fat old man who had provided the intelligence, Han Li recalled that although the old man mentioned flying yin beasts existed above Stormwind Mountain, he never said there were this many. Han Li wondered if the old man had deliberately withheld this information or simply did not know.

They had just passed through the ghost mist area, expecting to catch a breath, but unexpectedly, these flying yin beasts immediately discovered them and trapped them here in a tight circle. Helpless, Han Li had no choice but to release the wailing soul beast and let it transform into the giant ape.

He was confident in the wailing soul beast’s ability to suppress yin beasts, but the sheer number of enemies in the sky made him uncertain if it could handle them all at once.

With no time to hesitate, Han Li resolved to give it his all.

Turning his head, Han Li whispered a few words to the sullen-faced Mei Ning and Zi Ling behind him. Then he pulled out a small red colt and a folded beast-skin soft shield from his bosom, handing them to the two women respectively.

As for himself, he flicked his sleeve, producing a jingling noise as ten small swords dropped crisply to the ground.

Each sword was connected to one of Han Li’s fingers by a thin beast sinew, like a rope dart. However, someone controlling ten swords simultaneously like Han Li was unprecedented.

Just as Han Li finished preparing, the yin beasts in the sky finally lost their patience.

The largest of the three-headed yin beasts let out a strange howl. The dozen or so yin beasts closest to Han Li suddenly flapped their wings fiercely and dove down, no longer fearing the wailing soul beast’s intimidating presence.

The great battle had begun!

As the yin beasts dove, the giant ape took a deep breath, then tightly closed its mouth and forcefully exhaled a huge silver light from its enormous nostrils, enveloping eight or nine of the yin beasts.

The flying yin beasts screamed miserably inside the silver light and immediately fell awkwardly, tumbling down.

However, two smaller yin beasts escaped the silver light’s grasp. Flapping their fleshy wings, they avoided the silver light and viciously charged at Han Li and the others from both sides.

With a loud “bang,” one yin beast was punched away by the giant ape’s fist, flying several zhang before crashing out of sight below the giant rock.

The other yin beast, about five or six feet large and resembling a vulture, took advantage of the opportunity to reach above Han Li and the others, swinging its sharp claws without mercy.

Han Li’s expression darkened, but he remained still, his ten fingers trembling with extreme agility.

The ten small swords shot out, whistling as they transformed into a gleaming Azure Sword Web, directly intercepting the yin beast above.

A piercing, miserable scream came from the yin beast.

Although Han Li had not infused magical power into the swords this time, the sharpness of the green bamboo bee cloud sword was enough to instantly shred the small yin beast into pieces, scattering blood and flesh everywhere.
