Chapter 545: The Bone of the Thunder Roc
"What's the use of me overthinking now?" Han Li looked at the earth flame pool and couldn't help but reply with a bitter smile.
"Fellow cultivator, it's good that you understand the severity of the situation," Feng Xi said, but a cold sneer appeared on his face, clearly not believing Han Li's words.
Seeing this, Han Li maintained his bitter expression and secretly cursed, "Old demon."
Then he walked to a corner of the magic formation and sat down cross-legged.
Only after Feng Xi personally witnessed Han Li obediently taking the position he designated did he nod in satisfaction. Then he turned to the Poisonous Flood Dragon and the Turtle Demon and said politely, "You two, enter the magic formation as well. Prepare yourselves!"
The Poisonous Flood Dragon and the Turtle Demon stepped forward a few paces without objection, entering the formation and standing on the array eyes they had already memorized.
Feng Xi then chuckled softly and slapped the storage pouch hanging at his waist.
The pouch flew out by itself, drifting slowly over the earth flame pool. The mouth of the pouch inverted, and a burst of rosy light sprayed forth.
Within the glow, a small ball of silver light suddenly appeared. It then grew larger, and in the blink of an eye transformed into a pair of bone wings about a meter in length, gleaming with white bones.
One of the bone wings was missing the upper half of the wingtip, while the other was broken and incomplete.
At first glance, they were utterly unsightly, but these fragments of bones glittered with silver light, radiating a tremendous pressure that made one involuntarily feel solemn and respectful.
"These are the wings of the Thunder Roc! Though badly damaged, they definitely are extraordinary. Truly worthy of being a wild exotic bird!" The Poisonous Flood Dragon gazed intently at the bone wings, making clicking sounds of amazement.
"Naturally! This Thunder Roc didn't die of old age and pass on peacefully. Its skeletal remains are so broken because it must have been trapped in its burial place and perished after being attacked. Otherwise, with the Thunder Roc's nearly unmatched speed and cultivation base at late shape transformation, even if it were defeated, it should have at least escaped," Feng Xi said with excitement, staring unblinkingly at the wings.
At this moment, Han Li also looked on with surprise, admiring the Thunder Roc's bone wings.
"Let's get started. Refining this will take months, who knows how long!" The Turtle Demon seemed uninterested in the bone wings and, after observing for a while, grew somewhat impatient and unusually urged them on.
Feng Xi was momentarily stunned by this, but then he suddenly chuckled as if he remembered something.
"Heh! I forgot. Brother Gui has only just passed the shape transformation tribulation less than a hundred years ago, so he's naturally uncomfortable with thunder attribute items. Then let's not delay and all cast the spell together!"
The Poisonous Flood Dragon had no objections.
The three began to chant low incantations that Han Li could not understand. Their bodies gradually emitted an astonishing demonic aura, and white, blue, and yellow lights respectively glowed on them.
It was unclear whether the demonic aura released by the three activated the magic formation or if the formation was secretly empowered by some other means, but it suddenly stirred.
Amid a slight shaking, the formation began to operate. The over ten mid-grade spirit stones embedded around it emitted dazzling light one after another.
Han Li looked around uneasily.
At that moment, Feng Xi suddenly shouted lowly. Bringing his hands together, then spreading them apart, two white light pillars as thick as arms shot out simultaneously, flowing into the magic formation beneath their feet.
A humming sound arose, and the ground trembled lightly. The earth flame pool in the center of the formation began to churn with roaring waves of fire.
"Pop!"
A fireball the size of a human head burst from the pool, shooting straight at the hovering bone wings.
