Chapter 518: The Shape Transformation Tribulation

Inside the newly constructed secluded mansion, Han Li had naturally set up a dedicated refining chamber.

After setting up a dense formation within, he brought the crystal to be refined and the bottle of Ten-Thousand-Year Spiritual Liquid inside.

Once he entered, the chamber's heavy stone door shut tightly behind him, remaining unopened for an entire year.

All other operations in the secluded mansion were managed by several giant ape puppets stationed outside the chamber.

Thanks to this arrangement, the mansion functioned smoothly without any problems.

However, one day, an unexpected event occurred.

Suddenly, a rumbling roar came from outside, followed by the ground shaking violently without any warning. Even the chamber’s walls trembled incessantly. At the same time, distant thunderclaps and crashing waves grew louder, as if the whole island was engulfed in a fierce storm.

With a muffled "bang," the stone door of the refining chamber pushed open from the inside.

A figure flashed out—Han Li’s face was cold, but his eyes revealed a mix of surprise and suspicion.

He turned his head to listen to the roaring outside, then suddenly pressed a hand on the storage pouch at his waist. A yellow light shot out from the pouch, circling once before settling into Han Li’s hand.

It was a formation flag, pale yellow all over and embroidered with some runes, about two or three feet long.

Without hesitation, Han Li opened his mouth and blew a stream of azure energy onto the flagpole.

Instantly, the yellow light flared up brilliantly. Then, sharp cold light gleamed in his eyes as he flicked his wrist.

A series of yellow blades shot straight into the ground. The formation flag quickly burrowed beneath the surface and vanished without a trace.

Low, varied-toned incantations flowed from Han Li’s mouth.

An astonishing scene unfolded.

All the ground and walls began to shine with dazzling golden light, as if their entire bodies had turned into pure red gold. At the same time, the tremors, shaking, and the terrifying thunderstorm sounds abruptly ceased.

Everything returned to normal.

Seeing this, Han Li relaxed slightly, though the suspicion in his eyes was far from gone. Suddenly, he transformed into a streak of azure light, shooting toward the mansion’s main gate.

Moments later, Han Li appeared glowing in azure above the island. Although a layer of mist covered the grounds below, the formation was one he had personally arranged, so it could not block his vision in the slightest.

But what he saw next changed his expression repeatedly.

Thanks to the protective formation, the mountain where his mansion stood was as stable as Mount Tai. However, outside the formation’s coverage, the land trembled and groaned in distress!

Not only were mud and rocks tumbling down hills and slopes, but huge cracks several meters wide had begun to fissure across the ground due to the severe shaking. Even the flowers and trees were thrown to the ground within moments.

Still, this was not enough to unnerve Han Li so greatly.

What shocked him even more was the wild waves rising on the sea near one side of the island.

Towering waves over a hundred meters high crashed one after another against the island’s shore, relentlessly washing away everything in their path. Almost half of that part of the island had turned completely into lakes and marshes.

Beyond the enormous waves, shrouded in thick sea fog, an eerie, low, and strange roar mingled with the thunder, as if some ferocious beast was raging wildly there. With each howl, the thunder and waves intensified.

“Could it be a high-rank demonic beast causing trouble on the nearby sea?” Han Li pondered, gazing at the direction of the waves.

Judging by the might, it had to be a demonic beast of considerable size. Otherwise, such a spectacle was impossible.

His curiosity piqued, Han Li hesitated briefly before a flash of light burst from him. He dove straight into the Sea of Mist, flying swiftly toward the origin of the roars.
