Chapter 507: Sneaking In

By the third morning, while it was still dimly lit, the brocade-clad burly man, the gaunt man, and their group quietly slipped out of the residence, heading toward the Starry Sky Hall.

At this moment, the martial law had just been lifted, allowing cultivators to move about. However, since it was still early, there weren’t many people seen in the city.

Because of this, the seven of them became even more cautious, each one nervously keeping their heads down as they hurried along.

Only the brocade-clad burly man, who led the group, flew while constantly glancing around.

The journey seemed to be going smoothly. The group flew their devices without incident and reached the forty-ninth level of the Sacred Mountain. Just a little more time and they’d be at the Starry Sky Hall.

Only then did their faces relax, and their hearts felt much more at ease.

But at that moment, the brocade-clad burly man leading the way suddenly changed expression and stopped the light-speed flight. Then, with a solemn look, he raised his hand and made a strange gesture.

Those behind him saw this and their faces changed drastically as they stopped moving, each adopting a careful, guarded stance.

“Fellow cultivator, what is the meaning of this? Why are you invisibly blocking our path?” the brocade-clad burly man stared into the empty front and said coldly.

At the same time, one of his hands quietly and silently pressed against the storage pouch at his waist.

“Heh heh, fellow cultivators, no need to be so tense. Although I’ve been waiting here specifically for you all, I mean no harm—I only have a request,” came a somewhat hoarse voice slowly from ahead. Suddenly, a flash of azure light appeared in the emptiness, and a cultivator clad in an azure robe appeared with his hands behind his back.

This man appeared to be in his mid-thirties, his complexion pale, as if ill.

But when the brocade-clad burly man and the others clearly saw his cultivation base, they couldn’t help but be shocked and grew extremely alert.

The other party was in the late foundation establishment stage, just like the brocade-clad burly man, and was also at the false core realm.

“Fellow cultivator, may I know your honorable name? Is there anything we can help you with?” the brocade-clad burly man’s eyes flashed coldly, but his tone remained calm as he asked.

“My surname is Qu. I’m just a rogue cultivator. Aren’t you all going to the Starry Sky Hall? Could you bring me along? I also want to make a trip to the outer star sea,” the azure-robed man said casually, making the others’ faces turn pale.

The brocade-clad burly man’s expression darkened even further upon hearing this.

After a moment of silence, he forced a smile and denied, “So you’re Friend Qu. But what do you mean by Starry Sky Hall and outer star sea? The few of us are just handling some private matters and passing through here. It has nothing to do with the Starry Sky Hall. Maybe you’ve mistaken us for someone else.”

The brocade-clad burly man had made up his mind that, though he didn’t know who the other was or how he knew about their matters, he could not admit anything lightly.

The others didn’t interrupt recklessly, seemingly leaving everything to the brocade-clad burly man to handle.

“Friend Yi Dao, why be so cautious? Since I’m appearing here now, do you think you can fool me with just those words?” the azure-robed man chuckled lightly, speaking nonchalantly.

“Hmph! You sure know your stuff, even knowing someone like Yi,” the brocade-clad burly man’s heart shuddered. After a cold snort, the veins on his hand pressing the storage pouch bulged.

The others somehow got the signal and suddenly scattered with perfect tacit understanding, surrounding the azure-robed man halfway.

“You wouldn’t be thinking of killing me to silence me, would you? Not to boast, but with my cultivation base, even if you all attacked together, you couldn’t kill me instantly. If I shout, the Star Palace will come. I wonder what will happen to you then?” The azure-robed cultivator ignored their act and spoke leisurely.
