Chapter 474: The Second Level
Ever since encountering the first Wolf-Headed Puppet, the group had continuously come across these puppets one after another. But under the defense of Barbarian Huzi’s extraordinarily strong heaven-supporting demonic technique, these mechanical puppets were smashed to pieces like mud, not requiring the assistance of the extreme yin or the old man in Confucian robes.
Han Li, without any hesitation, collected the remnants of each destroyed puppet one by one.
Naturally, this behavior caught the attention of Wu Chou and Mysterious Bone, who stared at him for quite a while.
However, Barbarian Huzi and the others paid no mind to Han Li’s actions.
It was clear that Wan Tianming and the others were taking a different approach from Han Li’s group. Han Li noticed that the extreme yin and the others remained calm, which made him realize that these old demons must have been able to roughly ascertain the whereabouts of their opponents, hence their unhurried demeanor.
But ever since encountering the puppet guards, Extreme Yin’s group stopped moving straight ahead and began taking winding, circuitous paths.
However, there was one thing Han Li found strange.
He had no idea what the extreme yin and the others were basing their route on. Han Li felt all the intersections looked the same, but those three nascent soul stage old monsters who were leading the way would unhesitatingly turn left at one intersection, then right at the next, without a trace of hesitation, as if they had everything under control.
If it were just Extreme Yin and the old man in Confucian robes acting this way, Han Li wouldn’t be surprised. After all, the two had been to this Inner Hall before and might have an excellent memory of the previous path.
But Barbarian Huzi was clearly here for the first time, yet he boldly took the lead. Extreme Yin and the old man followed without objection, which puzzled Han Li.
So Han Li’s mind stirred, and he secretly searched the various intersections on the path below for differences or any hidden markings.
But after passing several intersections, he wasted his effort and found nothing.
Han Li had no choice but to give up in resignation.
Along the way, Barbarian Huzi smashed seven or eight Wolf-Headed Puppets barehanded, leading everyone to a small teleportation formation.
The teleportation formation was located right in the middle of a crossroads, emitting a faint glowing light.
“Going up from here leads to the second level. Who knows what tricks Wan Tianming and those righteous path guys used; they’re actually ahead of us,” the old man in Confucian robes complained upon seeing the teleportation formation, but a slight smile still appeared on his face.
“Hmph! Let’s go. So what if they’re ahead? The Void Heaven Cauldron isn’t that easy to get,” Barbarian Huzi snorted coldly, indifferent.
Then he swaggered forward and stepped into the teleportation formation first.
Scholar Qingyi smiled slightly at this.
After Barbarian Huzi teleported away, he and the supreme patriarch of dark yin did not immediately follow. Instead, they exchanged a glance and then their eyes meaningfully landed on Han Li.
Han Li felt a chill run down his spine.
Under their gaze, he gritted his teeth and stepped into the teleportation formation. In a flash of white light, he was teleported away.
When Han Li regained his footing and looked around the nearby area, his face showed a sudden surprise.
It was the same crossroads, the same bluestone path. If not for Barbarian Huzi standing ahead with his hands clasped behind his back, Han Li would have almost thought the teleportation had failed.
Just as Han Li was about to wonder, white light surged behind him as Extreme Yin and the others teleported over one after another.
“What kind of tricks did these righteous path guys use to get away so fast? We can’t find them at all now,” the supreme patriarch of dark yin muttered with a sour expression after appearing and scanning around.
“Forget it! Those righteous path people made a crazy suggestion to give up outside. I found it strange back then. It seems they have long been scheming against us. But let them get the treasure first. After all, just relying on Wan Tianming’s Golden Silkworm to get the Void Heaven Cauldron is wishful thinking. If they really get lucky and retrieve it, we can ambush them in hiding and snatch it away later,” the old man in Confucian robes said coldly behind the supreme patriarch.
