Chapter 468: The Strange Black Armor
Han Li’s gaze lingered longest on the cloak.
Firstly, the cloak had an extremely peculiar design, composed of two layers. The inner layer was woven from silver threads, while the outer layer was covered with strange, unidentified feathers. These feathers shimmered with a dark red blood aura within the light shield, giving off an eerie feeling.
Secondly, Han Li had never seen a magical treasure in the form of a cloak before, so he was naturally very curious about its function.
However, from his speculation, this ancient treasure might possess powerful defensive abilities or the ability to conceal one’s aura. Either would be invaluable skills for Han Li to survive amidst the many formidable enemies lurking in the Inner Hall.
Staring at these three ancient treasures, Han Li’s face showed hesitation.
He could only take one, or else the forbidden formation of the loft would immediately teleport him out. He had to make a choice.
Logically, taking the golden-yellow mirror was the safest bet.
Han Li was almost certain its power would be substantial, and taking it would immediately boost his strength.
Choosing that strange five-colored copper ring might bring an unexpected surprise. Its complete set of properties and the multi-colored radiance made the treasure extremely mysterious.
As for the cloak, once taken, it was very likely to come in handy immediately—perhaps even saving his life in a crisis.
Han Li’s gaze shifted restlessly among the three items.
Even though he usually kept his emotions in check, faced with these precious treasures within easy reach, he found himself wavering and feeling anxious over what to gain or lose.
After a long while, Han Li took a deep breath and calmed his expression.
This time, after only a brief moment of thought, a glint of inspiration flashed through his eyes—a wildly imaginative idea appeared in his mind.
The sudden emergence of this thought made Han Li’s heart pound with excitement.
From his understanding of formations and forbidden seals, advanced seals that forcibly teleport people out of a space were almost impossible to counter by trickery—unless one found the seal’s core or used brute force to tear apart the entire sealed space.
Touching a preset forbidden seal would involuntarily send someone away.
Both methods were naturally impossible for Han Li.
Finding the seal’s core would require a master-level formation expert to have spent years researching the space—something he could not hope for.
Using brute force to break the seal was even more reckless—no sane person would attempt it.
With so many old cultivators at the nascent soul stage failing to do so, Han Li, a cultivator who had only recently formed his foundation formation, could only dream.
However, within the formation-breaking tips he obtained, there was a theory that Xin Ruyin, a genius in formations, had put forward in a text about spatial forbidden seals.
She speculated that it might be possible to temporarily nullify a spatial forbidden seal’s effect for a brief moment.
Though fleeting, that moment would be enough for Han Li to grab an additional ancient treasure.
But achieving this required the cultivator to completely sever their spiritual power's connection with all the energy of the space, leaving no trace of contact.
After Xin Ruyin wrote down this hypothesis, she ironically admitted that even cultivators at the nascent soul stage probably lacked such supernatural ability—it was just a momentary flight of fancy. If a cultivator really had such great supernatural ability, they could simply rely on their strength to break the seal outright, avoiding this complex method altogether.
After all, cultivators in this world at best could conceal their aura so well that others could not detect them; cutting all ties with the spiritual energy of heaven and earth was impossible.
Yet when Han Li read this section in the secluded mansion, he immediately associated it with the abnormal ability of the golddevourer worms to consume the energy of heaven and earth.
