Chapter 452: The Thunderous Strike
Han Li felt as if the magical power within his body had solidified, unable to extract even the slightest bit. Clearly, the mysterious Yin Soul Silk was suppressing his true energy.
A chill ran through his heart as he focused intently on the black threads.
The threads were densely tangled all over his body, jet black and glossy, emitting a faint ghost energy. They were obviously extremely sinister and evil.
Han Li’s face twitched involuntarily!
When he first obtained the Golden Net, he had his suspicions that some trickery had been applied to it. But after thoroughly inspecting it multiple times, he found nothing unusual.
He had no other pure gold magical artifacts on him and had no choice but to use it.
After he truly used the Golden Net to capture the spiritual ginseng incarnation, he temporarily set aside those doubts.
But unexpectedly, the moment he turned hostile with his opponent, he was ambushed with this very artifact, and even his magical power and true energy became unusable for a time.
However, the pale look on Han Li’s face only lasted a moment before returning to normal.
Because he immediately realized that the protective formation outside was still intact, and his opponent could do nothing to him for the moment. This gave him enough time to deploy methods to break free from the binding.
Thinking this, Han Li sneered coldly and was about to summon the golddevourer worms on his head when suddenly a faint “puff” sound came from behind him.
The noise was extremely slight; if Han Li’s spiritual awareness hadn’t been fully open throughout the grand formation, he might not have noticed it.
His body hairs stood on end, and without hesitation, he spun sharply around. At the same time, he let out a sharp shriek, and the swarm of golddevourer worms in the air surged massively toward the rear.
A thunderous “boom” echoed from behind, and Han Li’s expression darkened.
He saw that the golddevourer worms were fiercely attacking a strange figure with a jade-green hue standing before them.
Though the figure’s face was blurred and covered in ghost energy, its two hands transformed into two giant jade-green serpents wildly thrashing about. They struck all the approaching golddevourer worms aside, not allowing a single insect to approach within half a step. The swarm was temporarily unable to make any progress.
What shocked Han Li even more was that the formation’s light shield behind him remained intact. How had this ghostly shadow managed to get behind him without triggering the formation’s restrictions?
Before Han Li could recover from his surprise, a harsh curse came from the green shadow.
“What kind of ghostly bugs are these? They can even devour my intangible magical body. This is too sinister!” The voice was that of the previously unknown man, now sounding frustrated and furious.
Han Li then noticed the green serpents had indeed knocked away most of the golddevourer worms, but at the moment of contact, some of the beetles bit the serpents one or two times, swallowing faint glimmers of green light into their bodies. No wonder the man was so angry.
But when had this man, who had been speaking in the clouds moments ago, sneaked behind Han Li and launched a surprise attack?
Han Li was puzzled.
However, the question flashed through his mind in an instant; now was not the time to dwell on it.
He had no intention of talking with the opponent and emitted the sharp shriek again.
Immediately, a portion of the golddevourer worms broke away from the battle and swarmed onto Han Li’s body, quickly crawling all over him, fiercely biting at those dark threads.
Because of his loss of magical power, Han Li could only barely command the golddevourer worms with sound.
He had to free himself before his opponent discovered a way to counter the worms. After all, he vividly remembered how the vital energy of the golddevourer worms had been severely injured by a ghostly howl in the ghost mist.
He dreaded that the opponent might use the same trick. That would be disastrous.
