Chapter 447: Space
The woman listened to Han Li's first two questions with an unchanged expression, as if she had already anticipated them. But when she heard the last question, she was momentarily stunned and finally revealed a trace of panic, forcing a smile as she said,
“Dao friend, what you said is quite interesting. How could I possibly cause any big trouble? The reason I was so panicked at the beginning was only because...”
“Miss Yuan, since you don’t intend to tell the truth, then don’t say anything more. I have no interest in hearing insincere words!” Han Li interrupted her with a wave of his hand, speaking coldly.
“You...”
Seeing Han Li’s unyielding attitude, Yuan Yao finally showed an angry look.
She stamped her jade foot hard and left in a bit of a huff.
Watching her retreating figure, no trace of change appeared on Han Li’s face.
But soon after, he glanced over at the immortal maiden Zi Ling in the distance.
He saw her calmly chatting with the young male cultivator. When she noticed Han Li looking over, she gave him a light smile, then turned back to whisper with the man.
Seeing this, Han Li silently withdrew his gaze as usual, but before he could ponder anything further, the voice of the revered master of the mysterious bones came through his spiritual transmission.
“Your pace is too slow! I thought you wouldn’t even be able to get through a mere ghost mist! Did you encounter the ghost king?” The elder’s voice carried a hint of dissatisfaction and doubt.
Hearing this, Han Li turned to look at the ghost mist in the distance and replied indifferently,
“I did encounter a vengeful spirit on the way, but it didn’t take long to deal with it. Later on, however, I ran into a large group of soul-capturing flying spirits. It took some effort to shake them off.”
“Soul-capturing flying spirits?” The revered master of the mysterious bones sounded surprised.
“What’s the matter? Senior cultivates the path of the undead — could it be you’re afraid of them?” Han Li asked calmly, with a faint tone of testing.
“How could I be afraid? I’m just curious about how the three of you escaped this disaster,” the elder evaded the question.
Han Li smirked inwardly but spoke lightly,
“I have nothing special to say. Just some luck helped me narrowly escape this ordeal.”
Upon hearing this, the elder silently cursed “little fox” but after a pause, had no choice but to continue transmitting,
“Very well! Since you’re unwilling to talk, I won’t press any further. When we teleport again, the two of us will act together. I will lead you to capture the ‘Nine-Twisted Spiritual Ginseng’ first. Then you must assist me in eliminating the rebellious disciples of extreme yin.”
“No problem! As long as you can truly hand over the Nine-Twisted Spiritual Ginseng to me, I’m willing to take the risk,” Han Li replied decisively without hesitation.
It seemed he had already made up his mind on this matter.
His clean and straightforward response pleased the revered elder greatly.
So he chuckled softly and ceased speaking further.
However, what he did not see was that after saying this, a trace of sarcasm appeared at the corner of Han Li’s mouth, while his eyes in the distance flickered coldly.
Suddenly, Han Li felt someone watching him and casually glanced sideways.
He saw the supreme patriarch of dark yin staring at him with a predatory gaze mixed with a hint of delight.
Han Li expressionlessly turned his face away and immediately showed a bitter smile.
It seemed that even if he didn’t want to settle matters with this supreme patriarch of dark yin, it was impossible. The other party was indeed persistently fixated on him.
He truly didn’t know why he was being targeted by this person.
However, it seemed the supreme patriarch of dark yin also had his own concerns, or else he would have started controlling Han Li back in the hall instead of holding back until now.
