Chapter 432: Supreme Patriarch of Extreme Yin
Others might not have noticed, but the revered master of the mysterious bones, who had only recently parted ways, was spotted by Han Li at a glance.
He was sitting alone, cross-legged in a corner of the hall, staring coldly at him, with a hint of surprise that was hard to conceal in his eyes.
Meanwhile, standing on another jade pillar were a man and a woman. The woman, a delicate-looking female cultivator, also looked at Han Li with astonishment, her face full of surprise.
She was none other than immortal maiden Zi Ling of the Miaoyin Sect, and beside her stood a man in an azure robe, calm and elegant in demeanor.
This man noticed the strange expression on Zi Ling's face and followed her gaze to examine Han Li a few times. Seeing Han Li appeared so young, his eyes flashed coldly, and he asked Zi Ling something.
Zi Ling smiled lightly, whispering a few words to him, seemingly explaining Han Li’s identity.
Han Li frowned slightly, ignoring the behavior of the two, but cast a cold glance elsewhere.
Because the look coming from that direction clearly carried some hostility, which puzzled Han Li.
He then saw an elder with an angry expression glaring at him.
Han Li was momentarily stunned, then recognized the man and sensed trouble.
It was none other than Elder Miao of the Six-Linked Hall.
Back when the infant carp beast incident occurred, Elder Miao and the elder surnamed Gu had wanted to kill to cover up the matter. Unexpectedly, Han Li had turned the tables on them by using their severely injured vital energy and formation restrictions to eliminate them instead.
Even after so many years, Elder Miao still remembered him—seems he and the slain elder Gu had a deep bond.
Although Han Li muttered a few complaints in his heart, he no longer cared much.
He quickly glanced at the other cultivators; none of them were familiar.
After hesitating for a moment, he walked through the blue glow and entered the hall, casually choosing an unoccupied jade pillar to fly up and sit cross-legged, imitating others.
Only then did he formally observe the unfamiliar cultivators.
Because his spiritual awareness was also restricted inside the hall, Han Li could not discern the cultivation bases of the others; all he knew was that most were probably foundation formation stage or above.
There were probably very few foundation establishment stage cultivators, and perhaps quite a few nascent soul stage old monsters as well.
Holding this thought, Han Li sat still but carefully scrutinized the others one by one.
After a while, he noticed something strange and discovered two cultivators who were almost certainly at the nascent soul stage.
One was an elderly scholar with a yellow robe and white eyebrows, his face thin and aged.
He leisurely held one hand behind his back while the other held a worn bamboo slip, reading it with great interest, occasionally nodding, somewhat like a bookworm.
The other was a middle-aged beauty dressed in pure white clothes without a speck of dust.
She was beautiful but radiated a bone-chilling cold aura, giving off a “stay away” vibe.
At this moment, the cold-as-ice beauty expressionlessly wiped the black long precious sword in its sheath. From when Han Li appeared outside the hall to when he entered, she hadn't glanced his way once, appearing very proud.
Among the other cultivators, although there were some who appeared calm and indifferent, their composure seemed somewhat fake compared to these two.
Moreover, most of the cultivators here looked upon these two with some reverence—a look not seen towards others.
Just this alone made Han Li certain these two were nascent soul stage experts.
Of course, Han Li was also aware that aside from these two, there were likely other special individuals among the cultivators who should not be underestimated.
The most obvious example was the revered master of the mysterious bones.
Though his cultivation base seemed only late foundation formation stage, in actual combat he was far stronger than others at that stage — almost second only to nascent soul stage cultivators.
