Chapter 425: Zhiyang Bird

Staring at the bloody bone hand protruding from his abdomen, Hu Yue’s eyes were wide open, his face filled with disbelief.

With a soft “pat,” the blue circular pill was crushed into powder, and then the bone hand suddenly vanished.

Hu Yue let out a muffled groan. As the bone hand withdrew, his body went limp and collapsed to the ground, fresh blood spurting endlessly from the wound. The stench of blood quickly filled the hall.

Although he was not dead yet, he was on the brink of death.

The shouts of Jin Qing and Stone Butterfly, the sounds of explosions, and the howling of magical treasures all came flooding into his ears. His life’s experiences flashed through his mind like a revolving lantern.

The poverty of his childhood, the joy of his entire family upon discovering his spiritual root, the helplessness when his beloved Senior Sister married another, the pride when he successfully formed his foundation, and his huge ambition to condense a nascent soul—all these seemed to slowly fade away with the coldness of his limbs...

But Hu Yue was not willing to give up so easily!

He had three throwing knife magical treasures. Usually, he only unleashed two to kill his enemies, but the third was never separated from him.

This third throwing knife was forged using a certain secret technique. Although its damage was average when thrown, its spirit communication defense was far superior to ordinary magical treasures.

Moreover, he had invested tremendous effort in cultivating this treasure, and not long ago, he had even refined it to the level of spirit communication.

When facing sneak attacks, even without his active command, this treasure should be capable of sensing the killing intent of others and automatically protecting its owner!

“Unless the one who sneaked up on him was...”

Hu Yue suddenly remembered something. With the last bit of mortal strength, he barely forced his head to turn slightly and finally caught a glimpse of what was happening behind him from the corner of his eye.

A pale white shadow was relentlessly chasing Jin Qing. Jin Qing was wrapped in a swirling silver light, flying backward, dodging and releasing his magical treasures to constantly bombard the shadow, clearly terrified of that white figure.

On the other side, Han Li and the others were trapped in a thick black ghost mist. Han Li, however, held a fiery red scroll in his hand. Countless fist-sized fire swallows flew out from the scroll, forming a massive fiery ring that continuously assaulted the black mist, preventing it from getting close.

Quhun and Stone Butterfly stood tightly behind Han Li.

Quhun was enveloped in a blood-colored light shield, his hands continuously releasing purple flames that dispersed the black mist that tried to break through the fiery ring.

Stone Butterfly held a milky white orb, radiating light that made any stray black mist dare not approach her at all; yet, panic was still evident in her eyes.

Hu Yue paid no mind to the black mist. He painfully fixed his gaze on the white shadow pursuing Jin Qing.

Sure enough, it was that white skeleton which had been dead for countless years. Yet it emitted a white mist around its body and leapt about with incredible agility. There was no sign of it being a lifeless thing.

Hu Yue gave a bitter smile.

He, a cultivator at the core formation stage, had been ambushed by a dead skeleton; this was utterly ridiculous.

With this self-mocking thought, Hu Yue’s consciousness darkened, and he fell into an endless sleep. However, the trace of his self-deprecating smile remained at the corner of his lips.

At the moment Hu Yue breathed his last, Han Li’s expression darkened as he continuously scanned the surroundings.

Just now, when Hu Yue was ambushed by the jumping white skeleton, large patches of chilling ghost mist suddenly surged from the nearby walls, trapping them all inside.

Fortunately, Han Li was somewhat prepared. Without hesitation, he unfurled the scroll he had just received. From within it, many spiritual birds engulfed in flames flew out.
