Chapter 396: Killing Demons to Obtain Cores

Han Li’s worries were obviously unnecessary.

After just half an hour, he sensed two powerful fluctuations of spiritual energy rapidly approaching Red Coral Island from the east and west, causing his expression to change slightly.

He suddenly opened his eyes wide, staring intently at the row of formation flags before him, pressing his slightly dry lips tightly together.

Although everything had been arranged, facing two high-level demonic beasts at once still made him involuntarily tense.

Suddenly, a cyan-purple formation flag before him radiated a brilliant light and began to tremble slightly.

Han Li’s expression turned solemn, but he didn’t take any immediate action. Instead, he silently observed.

He knew that although fifth-level demonic beasts had some intelligence, once trapped in a grand formation like the Inverted Five Elements Formation, it would be impossible for them to break free in a short time.

After all, the cultivation base of fifth-level demonic beasts was supposedly equivalent to a cultivator in the early foundation formation stage, but in actual combat, most of them were no match for same-level cultivators.

Their main disadvantage was their low intelligence and the simplicity of their innate spells, making them easy targets for immortal cultivators of the same level to exploit weaknesses and kill.

Formations, being such profound techniques, were even harder for them to break through quickly.

Therefore, Han Li felt at ease waiting until the other demonic beast also fell into the formation before finally making his move.

Just as he was anxiously thinking this, a yellow formation flag suddenly flared brightly and emitted a low humming sound.

At once, Han Li’s previously solemn face showed a hint of happiness. He then formed a spell formation with his hands, sealing off the aura of the nearby Nishang Herb using the surrounding illusion formation’s restrictions.

Otherwise, if one or two more demonic beasts were attracted, he definitely wouldn’t be able to handle it.

After finishing this, Han Li reached out lightly into the void and caught two oddly glowing formation flags that flew automatically into his hand. He softly whispered the word “Go!”

The quhun behind him immediately opened its mouth and emitted a yellow light. Then, a brilliant yellow glow burst forth, enveloping Han Li and transforming him into a yellow streak shooting into the sky.

Moments later, Han Li appeared above the “Phantom Shape Heavenly Net Formation” on the far west. Inside, swirling yellow-green colorful clouds roiled constantly, accompanied by muffled roaring sounds like those of a charging bull.

Han Li released the Divine Wind Boat and flew away alone.

Then, he pulled out the yellow formation flag from his bosom, gently shook it in his hand, and a yellow beam shot from the flagpole, striking the colorful clouds in the formation.

Immediately, the various clouds retracted, revealing a demonic beast trapped inside.

This beast was about two to three zhang long, round and covered in fiery red spines. At first glance, it looked like a giant sea urchin, but its plump body was dotted with dozens of emerald green eyes, all the same size.

Those eyes were icy cold, continuously shooting out crimson beams that struck the formation’s restrictions repeatedly, while the bull-like roaring came from its fat abdomen, as if it were in a state of wild agitation.

“Thousand-Eyed Fiend.”

Upon seeing the demonic beast’s appearance clearly, Han Li immediately recognized its origin and grew excited inside.

This was one of the most common fifth-level demonic beasts in the Chaotic Star Sea, perfect for him to practice on.

He dared not delay! This was not the Inverted Five Elements Formation, and such a formation couldn’t withstand the beast’s repeated thrashing. Without hesitation, he mentally commanded the quhun.

Upon receiving the order, the quhun’s surrounding yellow glow instantly transformed into a towering blood aura. Then, it quickly clasped its hands and split them apart, shooting out a yellow crescent-shaped ray between its palms that fiercely slashed toward the Thousand-Eyed Fiend trapped in the formation.
