Chapter 395: Nishang Herb
“Red Coral Island! This is the nearest coral island, it must be here!”
Han Li stood on the Divine Wind Boat, murmuring to himself. Then he activated his magical artifact and swiftly circled around the island’s perimeter, hovering in the air for a while.
After confirming that no other cultivators or demonic beasts were present nearby, Han Li and Quhun slowly descended onto the island.
The small island wasn’t large; it formed an irregular ring-shaped structure, pieced together by numerous coral reefs of various sizes, strung together here and there.
Han Li stood on the smooth ground, rubbing the dark red sand-like powder beneath his leather boots, then looked up carefully to observe the island’s terrain.
After a short moment, he squinted his eyes, revealing a thoughtful gaze.
Suddenly, Han Li ordered Quhun to keep watch nearby while he began moving around the island.
With Quhun on guard, Han Li spent two days wandering around the island, exploring east and west.
He inspected every part of the coral island thoroughly. Toward the end, he even dove into the seabed at the center of the ring-shaped island, staying submerged for half a day before resurfacing.
On the third day, Han Li finally stopped, having made up his mind!
He commanded Quhun to start setting up three grand formations at selected locations: the Inverted Five Elements Formation, the Heavenly Wind Fierce Formation, and the Phantom Shape Heavenly Net Formation.
These grand formations blocked the three essential pathways leading into the center of Red Coral Island.
Then, Han Li used all the remaining formation tools to set up several smaller magic formations at the island’s ring-shaped center, completely sealing off the surrounding area.
With this, the setup was like a celestial net, a perfect trap.
After completing everything, Han Li thoroughly checked again, ensuring no mistakes or oversights, before pulling out a jade box from his bosom.
Caressing the surface of the jade box with one hand for a moment, Han Li revealed a mysterious smile and gently opened the lid.
Inside lay a single stalk of a spiritual herb about an inch tall, with thirteen curled leaves!
All the leaves curled into cylindrical shapes, looking quite peculiar.
But even more astonishing was that the entire herb was milky white, emitting a faint rosy glow, dazzling and brilliant—very much like an immortal artifact.
This was Han Li’s greatest trump card on this trip: the Nishang Herb.
In truth, although this herb wasn’t exactly common, it wasn’t extremely rare either. It could be found on coral reefs throughout the Chaotic Star Sea.
However, if planted in ordinary soil without a vividly colorful environment, the Nishang Herb would wither and die within a day or two—quite an interesting trait.
Most fascinating was the glow it emitted, which always matched the color of its environment, changing with shifts in surrounding hues. It could radiate red light, blue light, or other colors accordingly.
Yet, its medicinal value wasn’t particularly important to immortal cultivators. Unlike its attractive appearance, it was only used as a minor ingredient in low-grade pills and typically didn’t attract much attention from cultivators.
But another extremely strange name for the Nishang Herb—“demonic beast-attracting herb”—once caused quite a stir in the immortal cultivation world of the Chaotic Star Sea.
No one knew which cultivator had accidentally discovered it. This extraordinarily vibrant herb, although it appeared with thirteen cylindrical curled leaves, would gradually unfold one leaf every hundred years. The unfolding process lasted six to seven days, releasing a peculiar scent.
This scent had no effect on cultivators but was irresistibly enticing to most demonic beasts in the sea.
Once these beasts caught the scent within a certain range, they would come rushing over, competing fiercely to devour it.
Moreover, the older the Nishang Herb, the wider the area influenced by the unfolding leaf’s scent, and the greater its attraction to high-level demonic beasts.
