Chapter 390: The Great City

After a moment, the black dot gradually grew larger as it approached from afar, slowly revealing a huge, indistinct dark silhouette.

Although it was still unclear, the towering outline, like a pillar supporting the sky, already gave Han Li a sense of overwhelming and astonishing momentum.

As Han Li, surprised, flew a little closer, he finally made out the rough shape of the shadow.

It was indeed a city, and a super city that occupied the entire island.

What shocked Han Li deeply was that the main body of this city was completely different from any city he had seen before. Instead of being built on flat land, it was constructed spirally on the surface of a towering great mountain at the center of the island, reaching up into the clouds.

At the base of the great mountain were layers upon layers of various buildings, extending all the way to the island's edge with almost no gaps.

There was no doubt this was the largest city in the Chaotic Star Sea—Tianxing City.

Staring at the countless tiny houses that stretched into the clouds like ants, Han Li was astonished for a long time.

It wasn't until the Divine Wind Boat approached the island by several tens of li that he came back to his senses and involuntarily slowed down the magical artifact beneath him.

Because in the nearby sky, Han Li was no longer alone flying by magical artifact; here and there, beams of light appeared intermittently, all heading toward Tianxing City.

Han Li sighed inwardly. Truly worthy of Tianxing City! Even from such a distance, other immortal cultivators could already be seen.

Flying forward another twenty or so li, the number of lights in the sky increased. Even below, some huge sea vessels appeared, riding the waves with the wind.

What left Han Li speechless was that some cultivators were not flying on magical artifacts but were either rowing small boats or riding low-grade demonic beasts, speeding along the sea.

Han Li shook his head with a slight feeling of emotion, then turned into a white light and sped up.

After a short while, Han Li arrived at the edge of Tianxing City.

Only then did he realize that the city before him was surrounded by towering stone walls dozens of zhang high, running along the coastline.

Beneath these endless high walls, Han Li could see a dozen or so gates of various sizes and styles.

There were docks exclusively for mortals’ sea vessels, bays where various demonic beasts nested, and, of course, the most numerous were small city gates that single cultivators could pass through. Han Li followed a beam of azure light and headed toward one of the smaller city gates.

Though called small, when Han Li flew over and looked at the massive gate, which stood seven or eight zhang high, he couldn’t help but let the corner of his mouth twitch in self-mockery.

Ahead of Han Li was a dignified young woman in green robes, whose cultivation base appeared to be mid foundation establishment.

She spoke gently with two white-robed cultivators standing under the gate, handed over some spirit stones, and received a blue ring from them, which she casually put on her finger before stepping lightly inside.

Only then did Han Li, accompanied by Quhun, calmly walk forward.

"Are you just stopping temporarily, or do you plan to live long-term in the city? If it's—"

"Oh, it’s a senior! Welcome to Tianxing City, esteemed senior. According to city regulations, all foundation formation seniors can live here long-term for free. Please accept this identity ring," one white-robed cultivator said without blinking, as if reciting words he had said countless times.

But before he finished, the other cultivator standing beside him noticed Quhun’s identity and hurriedly tugged his sleeve. The first cultivator glanced at Quhun again with surprise, quickly showing a respectful expression, then changed his words and pulled out a red ring from his bosom, handing it over.

"This is my first time in Tianxing City. What is this ring for?" Quhun asked in a somewhat hoarse voice.
