Chapter 384: Slaying the High-Rank
Just as the core formation stage cultivator in the formation slowed his movements, a dozen or so crystal-clear, snow-white ice spears suddenly shot out from the seawater on one side, viciously stabbing toward his back.
The Ancient Elder, who had originally been clumsy, suddenly regained agility. His body swayed and turned around, then he raised his hand. A huge yellow moon blade shot out from his palm and, in the blink of an eye, shattered the stealthy ice spears with a series of crackling sounds. Without losing momentum, it slashed fiercely toward the direction from which the Ice Serpent had fired.
At the same time, the seawater behind the Ancient Elder suddenly parted, and a blood-red pillar of light shot out. Because the distance was short and the speed incredibly fast, the Ancient Elder, restrained by the formation, had no time to dodge. His expression shifted slightly as the yellow light on his body surged dramatically, and he braced himself to withstand the blow.
The blood-colored strike, as thick as an arm, knocked this core formation stage cultivator backward by two steps, leaving him staggering and barely able to stand steadily.
But at that moment, a flash of azure light appeared on one side. Han Li suddenly appeared out of thin air beside the Ancient Elder, gripping a silver Greatsword tightly in both hands and slashing diagonally with fierce force.
This truly startled the Ancient Elder!
Just moments ago, there had been no one here. What escape technique had the opponent used to appear so strangely?
Although shocked in his heart, the yellow light on his body surged without hesitation, ready to resist Han Li’s Greatsword head-on.
Han Li chuckled lightly, then vanished right before the Ancient Elder's eyes. Around them came the sharp whistling sounds of something breaking through the air. Suddenly, a dozen thin red threads appeared, as fine as strings, and stabbed fiercely forward.
"Flying Needles!" the Ancient Elder was horrified!
He was well aware of these deadly "hidden weapons" that were lethal in the immortal cultivation world.
Immediately, his body was bathed in brilliant yellow light. He was about to destroy these poisonous magical artifacts before they could catch him off guard.
With a loud bang, Han Li flashed behind him and slashed down with his sword, making the yellow blades flicker violently. Then, the more than ten red threads slithered in like venomous snakes, piercing several feet into the yellow light and continuing their rapid advance.
The Ancient Elder was both shocked and enraged. A cold gleam flashed in his eyes as he reached out to his storage pouch.
By now, he partly understood the situation. With his vital energy severely injured and under the opponent’s formation and strange attacks, it seemed difficult to win relying on just one magical treasure.
But before he could retrieve anything else, two blood-red beams as thick as thumbs suddenly flashed in front of him and sharply shot into his yellow protective light.
Because the yellow blades had been dimmed slightly after Han Li’s Greatsword strike and had held back the flying needles, these unobtrusive blood beams easily pierced through.
The Ancient Elder’s face turned deathly pale!
Yet, as a core formation stage cultivator, the moment the blood beams pierced through his protective yellow light, he felt something was seriously wrong. Forgetting about retrieving any treasures, he suddenly twisted his body hard.
A blood beam rushed past his ear, tearing away more than half the flesh of one ear. The other beam, while missing his heart, left a small, bleeding hole in his shoulder.
The pain made the Ancient Elder cry out, and his legs weakened, almost dropping to his knees.
But Han Li’s assault was far from over. The tall figure of Quhun leapt from the seawater, raising both hands as two blood-red pillars of light burst out.
At the same time, Han Li’s face remained expressionless. One hand spun the Greatsword into a huge orb of silver light, continuously smashing against the yellow blades, producing harsh, screeching friction sounds — extremely piercing! His other hand drew out a thick stack of talismans, instantly unleashing countless fireballs and ice spears. Brilliant lights and continuous explosions erupted all around.
