Chapter 381: Exotic Treasure Subdues the Demon
“Begin casting!” Feng Sanniang shouted loudly, waving the large blue banner in her hand. Instantly, ripples of blue waves radiated outward from it.
The others, upon hearing her command, also silently waved their formation flags. In an instant, a brilliant blue radiance enveloped everyone, flickering a few times before they vanished without a trace, completely concealing their presence.
From a distance, looking toward this place, there was nothing but the empty sea surface.
After a moment, two long rainbows streaked over swiftly, showing no sign of stopping as if still trying to escape for their lives.
The white mist behind them, without hesitation, plunged straight into the formation area.
But as soon as the white mist entered the formation’s range, the surrounding blue radiance surged intensely. A huge blue light shield suddenly appeared out of thin air, trapping it inside.
At this moment, Feng Sanniang, Quhun, and the others appeared around the perimeter.
They all raised their blue formation flags high and pointed them at the light shield, shooting six thick blue beams that continuously infused into the massive shield, making it glow an even more dazzling deep blue.
The two long rainbows ahead, one yellow and one golden, saw this and without hesitation turned around, promptly retreating to the very top of the light shield.
As the radiance dimmed, the figures of Elder Miao and a burly man with disheveled hair appeared.
“Good, well done! Now we must hold off this beast’s counterattack so that the two of us can use the borrowed exotic treasures to take down this brute!” Elder Miao said with a pleased expression.
He exchanged a glance with the Ancient Elder, then both reached into their robes and pulled out objects—ancient bronze long halberds, weathered with age and dull in appearance, completely unremarkable at first glance.
Both Six-Linked Hall elders, at the core formation stage, looked solemn. They chanted incantations quietly, and the long halberds in their hands floated up on their own, radiating yellow light that grew steadily brighter.
At this moment, the infant carp beast trapped inside the light shield seemed to realize its predicament. After a piercing infant cry, the hundred-zhang-wide white mist suddenly shrank inward rapidly, quickly reducing to just over ten zhang, transforming into a milky-white mist shield.
At the same time, thunderous rumbles from within the mist began to converge like a stampede of thousands of horses, shaking the cultivators who arranged the formation nearby. Their ears buzzed loudly, and everyone was secretly alarmed.
Suddenly, the infant’s cries stopped abruptly!
Countless blue orbs of light, roughly the size of fists, shot out densely from the white mist, fiercely striking the blue light shield. Their momentum was so fierce that everyone’s hearts tightened involuntarily.
When these orbs reached about ten zhang from the shield, a large area of cyan glow appeared. Some of the orbs flickered and vanished within the radiance, then reappeared above the white mist and slammed down hard. This portion of the attack was even reflected back by the formation.
But there were just too many orbs, and most still struck the blue shield.
Instantly, both the blue light shield and the white mist burst forth with rumbling blinding white light. However, the white flashes inside the mist vanished as quickly as they appeared. The shield, on the other hand, trembled violently, blue and white lights interweaving and flickering as if it were about to collapse.
“Everyone, increase your magical power! This is one of the infant carp beast’s three deadly attacks—the Divine Water Gauntlet Thunder. It won’t last long. If we can hold on for a while, we’ll get through this,” Feng Sanniang's face abruptly changed as she shouted. She was the first to recite a few incantations, then spat a mouthful of refined blood onto her formation flag, causing the blue light to surge. The thick beam of light from the flagtip immediately thickened several times, stabilizing the shield somewhat.
