Chapter 365: Wang Changqing

Han Li glanced from afar at the giant fish stretching several dozen feet long, then flew over the sea vessel. After circling above it a couple of times, he looked down at the ship.

Clearly, the people on the ship noticed Han Li’s arrival. After a few loud shouts, a large crowd poured out from the cabin—two to three hundred people in all—filling the bow of the ship.

When this group saw Han Li hovering in midair, a few showed reverence on their faces and all bowed respectfully to him.

Han Li was somewhat surprised when a middle-aged man dressed in the most splendid clothing stepped forward a few steps, nervously spoke a few words, then stood quietly with his hands bound, seemingly waiting for Han Li’s instructions.

Han Li rubbed his nose and chuckled bitterly. Because of the man’s speech, he didn’t understand a single word. Without a common language, how could they communicate? This gave him a headache.

At that moment, since Han Li did not immediately respond, the middle-aged man looked a bit panicked and hurriedly said another couple of sentences. Although Han Li couldn’t grasp the meaning, he could tell the man was trying to explain something to him.

Han Li frowned slightly and, after some thought, suddenly spoke in the common language of Tian Nan:

“Is there anyone here who understands what I’m saying? If so, come forward and translate for me!”

As soon as these words left his mouth, Han Li swept his gaze over the crowd below.

The middle-aged man looked bewildered, obviously not understanding Han Li’s words. The others were equally confused.

Sighing helplessly, Han Li tried several ancient languages he knew, repeating the sentence each time.

These ancient languages had been learned back when he practiced those tongue-twisting spells.

When he spoke one of them, a gray-haired elder in the crowd finally showed a flicker of reaction.

Seeing this, Han Li was delighted and immediately pointed at the elder.

“Sir, do you understand what I’m saying?” Han Li asked slowly in that ancient tongue. Since he didn’t often use this language, he was a bit rusty.

The elder hesitated, then stepped beside the middle-aged man and respectfully replied in ancient language:

“I am Wang Changqing. In my youth, I did learn this immortal master’s language! May I ask what instructions you have, Immortal Master?”

Han Li smiled faintly when he heard the elder truly understood the ancient language. Suddenly, he flashed forward and stood before the elder, startling both the elder and the middle-aged man.

“You must have already realized I don’t understand the local language. You can tell them I’m just passing through, inquiring about some matters, so there’s no need to be so alarmed,” Han Li said gently.

He had already thoroughly scanned the Great Vessel with his spiritual awareness and confirmed it was filled with mortals; there were no immortal cultivators aboard. That was why he felt at ease to come down.

After saying this, Han Li paid no attention to the elder’s murmured explanations to the middle-aged man. Instead, he gestured to the divine wind above, and the white magical artifact slowly descended to the bow carrying Quhun.

Following Han Li’s command, Quhun stepped out, while the small boat quickly shrank into a streak of white light that flew into Han Li’s hand and was stored in his storage pouch.

Having finished these tasks, Han Li glanced sideways.

He noticed that although the mortals on the ship still maintained respectful expressions, none showed shock or surprise. This indicated that the immortal cultivators’ techniques must be something they frequently witnessed; otherwise, they wouldn’t be so accustomed to it.

This meant either these people were not ordinary families or that the area had many immortal cultivators who did not mind mortals seeing them. Han Li pondered silently.

At that moment, the elder had relayed Han Li’s words to the middle-aged man. The man was initially stunned but quickly showed a delighted expression and began chattering excitedly to Han Li with extreme enthusiasm.
