Chapter 34: Blink Sword Technique
"Blink Sword Technique?" Han Li muttered to himself, repeating the name of the sword technique.
"Yeah, what does a sword technique have to do with blinking? Isn’t that name funny?"
"Have you practiced this sword technique?" Han Li asked with interest.
"Of course not. Who would practice a martial art that doesn't even use true qi? Isn’t that just a fancy show? Not to mention me, since its creation, no one has ever cultivated it."
"I heard that if it weren’t for the elder who created it—who saved the seven mysteries sect from several crises—and who left a will on his deathbed insisting that this sword technique be included in the seven absolutes hall, the Blink Sword Technique wouldn’t have even been listed among the supreme techniques of the hall."
Li Feiyu, with his cold exterior, had a remarkably big mouth. Before Han Li could even ask, he had already revealed all the background of this sword technique. Of course, he only showed this loose tongue side to Han Li. Outside, in front of other disciples, he was the cool idol “Senior Brother Li.”
After listening to Li Feiyu’s explanation, Han Li’s fifth sense faintly told him this was exactly what he had been searching for.
“Senior Brother Li, can you copy out a copy of this sword technique for me and take it out of the seven absolutes hall?”
“Hehe! No problem. For other martial arts, I wouldn’t dare copy and give you one since there are dedicated people inspecting and checking daily. But the Blink Sword Technique is just left forgotten in a corner, no one pays any attention. However, copying it is too troublesome. I might as well sneak the original Sword Manual out for you. You can memorize or copy it yourself, then I’ll secretly put it back. Absolutely no one will notice,” Li Feiyu casually proposed an even bolder plan.
Seeing how confident he was, Han Li agreed with the plan.
He had some worries about Li Feiyu’s habit of being forgetful; if he accidentally missed some parts while copying the sword technique, it would be unfair to him.
Now, having the original Sword Manual was even better.
"Alright, it’s getting late. I should go back to practice. Otherwise, the steward of the seven absolutes hall will find out I sneaked out again," Li Feiyu said as he wiped off sweat, put on his jacket, and prepared to leave.
Han Li said nothing more but reminded him to be careful when sneaking out the Sword Manual and not to get caught.
Li Feiyu didn’t care, turned around, waved his hand carelessly at Han Li with the back of his hand, and slowly crawled out of a nearby cave.
Han Li watched his figure slowly disappear through the cave entrance, and the smile on his face faded, revealing a few clouds of gloom.
Not long after Li Feiyu left, Han Li returned to Divine Hand Valley.
As soon as he arrived, he saw that tall mysterious man from afar.
He stood motionless outside Doctor Mo’s house, leaning by the door, wearing a cloak as if he didn’t mind the scorching summer sun at all.
Han Li stopped beside his own door and gazed at this silent man.
Since Doctor Mo had threatened him, Han Li had been very interested in this man who never revealed his face. This person seemed born mute; since arriving at the valley, he had never spoken a word.
Even stranger, this man’s stamina was astonishing. Standing still like this, he could stay still all day long without ever seeming tired. Han Li had long dubbed him “the monster” in his heart.
Han Li had tried to communicate with him, but the man was like wood—no reaction at all. No matter how wildly Han Li spoke, he just ignored him.
Han Li was completely impressed by Doctor Mo, who had trained a living, breathing human being into a puppet without weakness.
Absolutely obedient, incredibly strong, never speaking a word, showing no emotion—although Han Li didn’t know the extent of his martial arts, he was sure this man wasn’t weak. This was his final judgment.
Han Li knew this man could become another trump card for Doctor Mo, but he was helpless. He couldn’t find any flaws in him.
