Chapter 338: Forcing a Confession

Han Li ignored the man's look of anger and fear, then dispersed the azure light wrapping around the Soul Guiding Bell. He reached out and flicked the small bell with his finger, producing a sharp “clang” sound.

With a “thud,” the “quhun” that was trying to escape immediately flipped over and fell to the ground.

“Your life artifact! You’re holding the life artifact of this body!” the “quhun” exclaimed with a fearful expression.

“Good that you know. If you don’t want to suffer, you’d better explain your origins clearly. I’m quite curious how you managed to occupy this body. Immortal cultivators aren’t supposed to seize mortals, right?” Han Li said calmly, his voice as plain as chatting with a friend.

But the “quhun” involuntarily shivered upon hearing this. It’s well known that cultivators who forcibly seize bodies are universally despised in the immortal cultivation world. While they aren’t completely exterminated, they certainly receive no kindness. Han Li’s unusually calm demeanor made the “quhun” even more unsettled, and he frantically thought of ways to escape.

“Please forgive me, fellow cultivator. I was once a foundation establishment stage cultivator, but during a conflict with an enemy, my original body was destroyed, so I had no choice but to take over this body,” the entity said, not answering Han Li's question directly but standing up and forcing a smile.

“Oh?” Han Li replied indifferently.

Han Li was actually a little surprised to hear the other side was a foundation establishment stage cultivator.

However, the “quhun” couldn’t read Han Li’s thoughts. Seeing his indifferent expression, the “quhun” began to feel uneasy and hurriedly added, “Although my cultivation has fallen to the lower qi refining stage, I still have some magical artifacts and spirit stones. If you do not pursue this matter, I am willing to gift them to you!”

His tone was somewhat servile. He clearly understood the principle of having to bow under the eaves.

Han Li paid no attention to the temptation and instead pondered for a moment before suddenly asking, “Are you a cultivator of the Seven Sects?”

Han Li’s question seemed casual. As far as he knew, it was rare to find foundation establishment stage cultivators outside the Seven Sects. Of course, some large cultivator families still had many, such as the Yan Family.

“The Seven Sects… Oh, yes, I am a cultivator of Spiritual Beast Mountain. Are you also a cultivator of the Seven Sects, fellow cultivator?” The “quhun” spoke calmly, but Han Li caught a flicker of panic in his eyes, which raised Han Li’s suspicions.

“So, you’re from Spiritual Beast Mountain! I wonder if Miss Han Yunzhi from your sect is still doing well?” Han Li asked with a gentle smile.

“Han Yunzhi… I’m sorry. I have been secluded for years cultivating, so I really have little impression of some of the younger disciples,” the “quhun” replied. He first paused, then forced a few dry laughs, sounding somewhat insincere.

“You don’t know her? Then tell me the names of a few disciples you do know. I know many cultivators from Spiritual Beast Mountain; maybe I know some of them!” Han Li continued to question quietly.

“Well…” The “quhun” looked panicked, his eyes darting around restlessly, showing signs of deceit.

Seeing the man’s hesitation and evasion, Han Li’s face grew cold, his expression turning icy.

“You truly disappoint me, fellow cultivator! Looks like I have no choice but to force some answers,” Han Li said bluntly. Then, his body shifted forward and instantly flashed back.

The “quhun” stood frozen in place, but suddenly, a calming talisman was pasted on his chest, leaving him no chance to react. His expression instantly changed dramatically, and he shouted anxiously, “Fellow cultivator, what do you mean? We can discuss this civilly…”

The calming talisman can completely stiffen a mortal’s body, even preventing them from speaking. But its effect is weaker on cultivators with some magical power; although cultivators with lower cultivation cannot move, their speech and facial expressions remain unaffected.
