Chapter 334: Anomaly

“Poisoned? No way! I’m usually very careful; all my food and drink are handled by dedicated staff!” Sun Ergou revealed his unease after his initial shock.

Han Li, hearing this, was too lazy to explain further. He raised his hand, and a flash of azure light swiftly flew into Sun Ergou’s body.

“Master, what is this? What are you doing?” Sun Ergou didn’t dare dodge but became somewhat panicked.

“This is the True Spirit Technique. It can reveal the toxins inside your body. Take a look in the mirror yourself!” Han Li sat on the chair, speaking casually.

Hearing this, Sun Ergou’s heart skipped a beat. He hurriedly rushed to a corner of the room where there was a dressing table meant for women.

Flustered, he found a small bronze mirror on the table and suspiciously glanced into it. Immediately, he was stunned!

The mirror reflected a face covered in black energy. That dark purple complexion clearly showed severe poisoning.

“Master, help! I’ve always been loyal to you, absolutely without betrayal!” Sun Ergou’s face filled with fear as he rushed back and knelt before Han Li, begging desperately.

By now, he was more than half convinced!

Because with Han Li’s immortal cultivator status, there was no way he would go to such lengths to deceive him. If Han Li intended to harm him, he could crush him with a finger.

Han Li looked at Sun Ergou’s display of loyalty and smiled faintly, then calmly said,

“Don’t worry, this poison is quite hidden but not very potent. You won’t die within a few days! There’s no need to make such a fuss.”

Sun Ergou felt somewhat reassured but still played the pitiful act, continuing to plead,

“Master, your magical abilities are vast. Please find a way to remove this poison! I, Sun Ergou, will continue to serve you wholeheartedly! If you don’t believe me, I can swear an oath. I...” Though Sun Ergou’s status had greatly changed, he was evidently much more afraid of death now. Before Han Li could say anything, he first pointed at the ceiling and uttered a string of vows, which made Han Li both annoyed and amused.

“To serve him wholeheartedly? It always seems like I’m the one benefiting him!” Han Li mused with a half-smile.

“There’s an antidote pill here. Take it later; as long as you don’t continue to get poisoned, you won’t have serious problems in the future.” Han Li shook his head slightly and took out a blue pill, throwing it to him.

“Thank you, Master! Thank you!” Sun Ergou happily accepted the pill, repeatedly expressing gratitude, then quickly got up and carefully stored the pill.

“This poison didn’t happen overnight. It’s been at least several months. I think you should be able to find out who poisoned you. Right, my Grand Gang Leader Sun?” Han Li suddenly chuckled lightly, half-joking.

“Master, you flatter me! But I do have a few suspects in mind about who poisoned me,” Sun Ergou said with a smile, scratching his head.

Now that Han Li had saved his life, he naturally became even more respectful.

“Hmm! Your mortal affairs, as an immortal cultivator, I won’t interfere. Handle them yourself. The real reason I came this time was to take away Quhun. I have some cultivation now, so bringing him along isn’t much trouble. You have no objections, right?” Han Li’s smile faded, and he said solemnly.

“Master, you want to take Master Qu away? But Quhun is no longer with the Siping Gang.” Hearing Han Li’s words, Sun Ergou grimaced inwardly but forced himself to reply.

“What do you mean? You lost him!” Han Li’s face darkened instantly. The temperature in the room suddenly dropped several degrees, making Sun Ergou shiver in fear.

“Master, please calm down! It wasn’t me who lost him. Master Qu ran away on his own. Though he’s not in the city now, he hasn't gone far and is wandering nearby in the mountains. I have men constantly following him!” Sun Ergou hurriedly explained, afraid of Han Li’s anger.

“He ran away on his own? What happened? Explain clearly. If it wasn’t your fault, I’m fair with rewards and punishments and won’t blame you!” Han Li’s expression softened slightly with a hint of surprise.
