Chapter 332: Old Places

As soon as Han Li spoke, he immediately felt a bit regretful.

He had clearly made up his mind long ago not to get entangled with this woman anymore, yet somehow he found himself agreeing to her request. It seemed his resolve still wasn’t strong enough!

Thinking this, Han Li shook his head quietly but still replied, “Alright, Senior Sister, then take my Divine Wind Boat. That way you can come and go quickly!”

After saying this, Han Li summoned his pure white Divine Wind Boat and invited Chen Qiaoqian to board with him.

Chen Qiaoqian smiled gracefully upon seeing this and accepted the invitation without any hesitation.

So Han Li flew the vessel with Chen Qiaoqian onboard. After a short while, they arrived at the famous White Chrysanthemum Mountain in Yue Capital.

The mountain was covered in various kinds of chrysanthemums, mostly white, and the scenery was truly enchanting.

What surprised Han Li even more was that upon reaching the mountain, Chen Qiaoqian didn’t say a word. She quietly walked up the mountain path by herself, occasionally pausing for a moment at particularly beautiful spots.

Han Li followed silently behind her, not speaking either, but watching her delicate and moving figure with a somewhat dumbfounded expression, as if completely clueless about romantic feelings.

An hour later, Chen Qiaoqian reached the mountaintop and stood inside a small pavilion, gazing around. Han Li stood quietly to one side.

At this moment, aside from Han Li and Chen Qiaoqian, there was not a single tourist on the mountaintop. Since neither of them wanted to speak first, the silence felt even more profound.

This subtle atmosphere lasted for an unknown amount of time until Chen Qiaoqian finally spoke softly.

“Junior Brother Han, after the great battle ends, I’m afraid I will be marrying someone else!”

Han Li was stunned at her words and instinctively turned to look at her, his face showing surprise.

“The other party is a direct disciple of the Qin Family, another prominent immortal cultivator family, under Sky Gate Fortress. He’s also a cultivator who recently established his foundation. I’ve met him a few times; he seems decent. If all goes well, he will marry into our Chen Family and become my dual cultivation partner,” Chen Qiaoqian said calmly, ignoring Han Li’s shocked expression.

At this, Han Li’s surprise gradually faded. After a moment’s hesitation, he politely said, “Then congratulations to Senior Sister on finding a good match! I will definitely prepare a gift for the occasion...”

Han Li only managed to start his sentence before realizing it wasn’t what Chen Qiaoqian wanted to hear. She trembled slightly, then before he could finish, she coldly raised her hand, tossing a circular device out and flew away on her own, as if there was nothing left to hold onto.

Watching Chen Qiaoqian disappear into the distance, Han Li stood coldly still, and after a long while, let out a deep sigh and flew away listlessly.

Though he had long made up his mind, seeing a woman who had feelings for him about to marry another still left Han Li feeling a little down.

Perhaps this was a common ailment among all men! Though immortal cultivators by name, in matters of the heart they were no different from mortals.

Han Li silently mocked himself as he flew back to the Qin Estate.

But just as he returned, he learned from others that Chen Qiaoqian had already left the place, gone before him.

Han Li smiled wryly inside. It seemed Chen Qiaoqian was truly disappointed in him and was determined to marry someone else.

Though somewhat melancholy, Han Li was not an ordinary person. He merely nodded as usual and continued chatting and laughing with others for half a day.

The next morning, everyone else left the Qin Estate one after another, with Han Li leaving last.

Before setting off, he deliberately glanced at Mo Fengwu, since they had met once, he wanted to bid her farewell.

But when he saw Mo Fengwu through the window from outside the pavilion—dressed as a young married woman, quietly reading scriptures with an elderly woman of about fifty, her face peaceful and serene—Han Li changed his mind about meeting her.
