Chapter 33: A Private Deal
Han Li grabbed the rope of the wooden bucket, tossed the bucket into the pool, then pulled it back up.
A bucket full of spring water was raised.
Han Li effortlessly lifted the bucket above his head, and with a flick of his wrist, poured the entire bucket of clear water from above his head all the way down to his feet.
"Ah, so refreshing!"
"So comfortable!"
Han Li and the other young boy both exclaimed in cool delight.
No wonder—this was the height of summer, scorching hot and unbearable. Both of them were shirtless, and being doused so suddenly with the icy mountain spring water felt incredibly soothing all over their bodies.
"Hehe! Junior Brother Han, you really know how to find the best spots. Such a hidden little pool, and you found it too," said the boy with the cold expression, suddenly breaking his silence.
"That's nothing. I've found many places harder to discover than this, but none have water as refreshing as here," Han Li replied without hesitation, happily accepting the compliment.
This boy was Han Li, and the other was Li Feiyu, who had come to collect medicine.
Since the first time Li Feiyu got a pain-relief pill from Han Li and tried it out, he found it truly effective—the pain from the Bone Marrow Extracting Pill was greatly alleviated.
From then on, Li Feiyu became addicted; whenever he didn't have Han Li’s medicine powder, he couldn’t endure the pain. What was originally a year’s supply was completely used up in just a few months.
Tormented by unbearable pain, Li Feiyu reluctantly came to seek Han Li for medicine.
At this time, Han Li was trying to strengthen himself. Knowing that Li Feiyu had entered the seven absolutes hall for advanced study, Han Li directly proposed an exchange: he would teach Li Feiyu supreme techniques from the hall in return for medicine.
With only a few years left to live, Li Feiyu agreed quickly, accepting the proposal wholeheartedly.
To keep their secret from outsiders, Han Li found some very secluded places in the Rainbow Cloud Mountain range stretching over ten miles, where they could carry out their transactions.
Every so often, the two would meet secretly. Han Li would hand over the medicine, and Li Feiyu would teach some martial arts learned from the seven absolutes hall.
Both were satisfied with this exchange, which lasted for over half a year.
During these months, Li Feiyu and Han Li found each other agreeable and gradually became close friends, sharing everything without reservation.
Li Feiyu was very pleased with the places Han Li chose, especially this one with a small pool. Surrounded by sheer cliffs, it was a small basin with only one hidden entrance—a narrow mountain cave that required crawling to pass through. The exit was unbelievably inside the hollow of an ancient locust tree clinging to the cliff face.
Best of all, in these sweltering days, having such a cool little pool here was a real blessing.
After some stretching, pouring a few buckets of cold water here was incredibly refreshing.
After finishing, Han Li looked at the sun and said, "The mad python force you taught me last time is too fierce; I don't think it suits me. Do you have any techniques that are a bit gentler and more delicate?"
"Junior Brother Han, do you really think the seven absolutes hall belongs to me alone? You want to learn any martial art you like? I can only learn a small portion myself. My techniques are more masculine, so naturally I learn the fierce supreme skills," Li Feiyu replied with a glare, sounding annoyed.
"What kind of person is Senior Brother Li? He’s the best among all our disciples—how can he be compared to an ordinary disciple of the seven absolutes hall?"
Han Li smiled sheepishly, sensing Li Feiyu’s irritation and quickly said some flattering words.
"Not easy at all to get a few compliments from our great genius Han," Li Feiyu teased with a smirk.
"What genius? Don’t I always get taken down by you in just a few moves?"
"Hmph! That’s because I used true qi. Using crude means to defeat craftiness isn’t really a skill. Without true qi, within a hundred moves I’d have no way to handle you."
