Chapter 324: The Black Death Cult Leader

Blazing flames soared six or seven zhang high. Qingwen was struck by the giant bird’s beak and instantly transformed into a massive figure of fire. She plummeted straight from the sky, and upon hitting the ground, only managed two pitiful screams before turning into a pile of white ash—without even a trace of resistance.

Han Li was utterly stunned. The fiery giant bird let out a sharp cry, then twisted its head and fiercely pounced on the two glowing cocoons nearby. Suddenly, a towering pillar of fire erupted between the two cocoons, engulfing the two blood attendants who were nearly finished transforming into a sea of flames.

Han Li watched clearly as the blood aura from the two cocoons barely held out against the scorching flames for a moment before completely melting away. The two blurred human figures inside swayed silently a few times before being entirely incinerated.

What looked like ordinary fire was actually so formidable—Han Li was shocked beyond belief. He gained a clear understanding of the power of magical treasures wielded by core formation stage cultivators.

Apart from Han Li, Song Meng and the others were just as shocked, though more of their expressions showed excitement.

“This true talisman treasure is incredible!”

“This time, it’s all thanks to Senior Brother Liu that we can wipe out the evil cult!”

...

Everyone was buzzing with enthusiasm.

In their view, once these blood attendants were eliminated, how could dealing with the Black Death Cult leader—who was still secluded—be difficult? After all, there were so many foundation establishment stage cultivators among them. There was no reason they couldn’t take down the cult’s head alone.

Liu Jing watched as the fiery flames formed by the firebird gradually faded away, feeling extreme regret in his heart. But after hearing the praise, his spirits lifted.

“Let’s go! We’ve wasted enough time here; let’s go in and eliminate the Black Death Cult leader as well!” Liu Jing declared boldly, waving his hand.

Everyone nodded in agreement, and they flew downward.

Han Li smiled faintly and also wanted to follow, but when he glanced to the side, he noticed Senior Brother Wang staring downwards with a strange expression.

Han Li paused, then followed his gaze. On the ground, other than the white ash left by the demon-transformed Qingwen and fellow disciples mourning the remains of their comrades, there was nothing noteworthy.

“Senior Brother Wang, did you find something?” Han Li couldn’t help but ask, his face filled with suspicion.

“No, no discoveries. Junior Brother Han, you’re overthinking!” Senior Brother Wang immediately withdrew his gaze and said evasively.

Han Li saw through it immediately. Senior Brother Wang must have made an important discovery but didn’t want others to know, hence the strange expression.

Feeling a bit frustrated, Han Li smiled faintly and calmly said, “Since there’s nothing, we’d better hurry. Senior Brother Liu is already going in!” He pointed towards the entrance of the Cold Palace, then without hesitation, flew down on his magical artifact.

Senior Brother Wang remained in the air with a face full of mixed emotions. After a moment’s hesitation, he reluctantly stomped his foot and followed.

Just as Han Li landed, a delicate voice came from above.

“Senior Brother Liu, Junior Brother Han, wait for us!”

Han Li was surprised and slowly turned his head back. Liu Jing and the others also stopped, their faces brightening as they looked toward the sound.

Under the soft moonlight, Senior Sister Zhongwei, Chen Qiaoqian, and a very pale middle-aged man descended slowly from the sky.

The middle-aged man wore golden-yellow robes and looked extremely frightened. He was hanging outside the flying magical artifact, suspended by the collar of his clothes held by Senior Sister Zhongwei. Seeing Han Li and Liu Jing’s group, his panic deepened.

Liu Jing smiled faintly and stepped forward.

“Looks like things went smoothly for you two, Junior Sisters! And this must be the Yue Emperor!” After the two female cultivators landed, Liu Jing’s gaze swept over the middle-aged man’s face before shifting away casually.
