Chapter 301: Expelling Poison, Removing the Curse

"Enough talk, my mind is made up!" the tall and lean Second Brother declared resolutely.

The young woman grew anxious and quickly looked back at the young man and the old elder, silently pleading for help.

The two exchanged a glance; the young man remained silent, while the elder sighed and said, "Fifth Sister, let Second Brother go! He’s trying to atone for what happened before! Only by doing this can he find some peace of mind."

"But, Second Brother—" the woman tried to argue, but the Second Brother had already stepped in front of Han Li and calmly said, "Senior, let's begin! Use me as the test subject."

His words were solemn and resolute, but what happened next stunned the four of them as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over their heads, leaving them dumbfounded.

“Are you all mistaken about something? When did I agree to remove your blood curse?” Han Li’s words were as cold as ice, causing the five friends of Mengshan to exchange uneasy glances.

“If you don’t intend to remove the curse, then why study it on my big brother?” The Second Brother of the Mengshan five friends asked hastily after his initial shock.

“Did I say I’m studying this blood curse to remove it for you? I’m merely curious,” Han Li said expressionlessly.

Hearing Han Li’s cold demeanor and ruthless words, they were all dumbfounded on the spot.

“But didn’t the senior want to know about those people’s matters? Without removing our blood curses, how could we possibly answer your questions?” The young man asked hesitantly, his face full of worry, obviously unwilling to give up the hope before him.

Han Li glanced sideways at him, then sneered a few times and silently looked up at the sky.

For such an obvious question, Han Li refused to dignify it with an answer.

“Fourth Younger Brother, don’t ask anymore. This senior clearly believes the intelligence gained from us isn’t worth exchanging for our lives, so he’s unwilling to act lightly!” The Black-Faced Elder, being much older and more experienced than the young man, hit the nail on the head immediately.

“What exactly are the senior’s conditions for acting? Just say it directly. As long as you can really remove the blood curse, we Mengshan five friends won’t hesitate,” the elder said calmly.

“Good! If you say so, there’s no need to beat around the bush,” Han Li suddenly clapped his hands and smiled faintly, his expression becoming more amiable.

But to the four of them, Han Li’s sudden change only made him feel even more unpredictable, stirring a subconscious sense of awe in their hearts.

“The condition is simple! If I can eliminate your biggest threat, you must tell me everything you know and, from today onward, temporarily obey my orders to help me fend off this group’s attacks. I figure they won’t let me off easily, and I also want to deal with them quickly.”

“However, you don’t need to worry about being outnumbered! I am a cultivator from Yellow Maple Valley, here in Yue Capital only to handle some sect affairs. As long as we survive this period, I will ask for reinforcements. Then, there’ll be no need to fear those scoundrels,” Han Li said kindly, proudly waving the banner of his sect to gain their wholehearted trust.

“You’re a cultivator of Yellow Maple Valley!” The elder’s face broke into a smile upon hearing Han Li’s confirmation, though he had guessed Han Li’s origin was likely within the Seven Sects.

“All right, we will follow the senior’s lead. We won’t stand aside. After the blood curse is removed, we’ll definitely become their targets. Staying close to you is safer!” The Black-Faced Elder agreed readily.

The young man and woman also smiled, showing no objection to the elder’s plan, clearly agreeing.

For them, the Seven Sects were naturally far more powerful than the forces controlling them with blood curses, so it was only natural to seek refuge there.

The tall and lean Second Brother wore a hesitant expression, seeming to want to say something but held back.
