Chapter 204: The Stone Hall and the Underground Passage
The place Han Li was headed to was located within a small basin inside the crater, surrounded on all sides by towering, bizarrely shaped stones that shielded it completely from wind and rain. In the very center of the basin stood an ancient and enormous blue stone hall. Although the hall was huge, its entrance was pitifully small—barely wide enough for two people to walk side by side.
This gave Han Li, who was standing atop the rocky mountain and gazing at the site, an extremely strange and discordant feeling.
Frowning slightly, Han Li jumped down from the rock and then slowly walked over to the entrance of the hall, looking up carefully at the stone structure.
The more he looked, the deeper the suspicion grew on his face.
He wasn’t sure if it was an illusion, but he always felt as if faint blue light was occasionally flowing over the surface of the stone hall. Yet whenever he tried to focus and examine it closely, he couldn’t detect any hint of abnormality. After several attempts, he muttered to himself, “Could it be that some forbidden technique was cast here?”
Han Li lowered his gaze and scanned the ground nearby, but found no traces of anyone having been here, causing him to narrow his eyes.
“There’s definitely something strange going on! Although this basin is a bit remote, such a huge stone hall shouldn’t have gone unnoticed by anyone. Besides, the information came from Zhong Wu himself—how could he have never come here!” Han Li’s mind raced with countless thoughts, instinctively feeling that something was wrong with this place.
Still, he was reluctant to leave just like that.
So he stepped back a few paces, reached into his storage pouch, and pulled out a golden blade. Tossing it into the air, it transformed into a streak of golden light and struck a section of the blue stone at the door with a sharp “puchi” sound. A surge of blue light welled up on the stone, but it remained intact, while the golden blade flipped and tumbled uncontrollably before being bounced several meters away.
Han Li shook his head and turned to leave.
“To avoid unnecessary danger, surviving and walking out of the Forbidden Zone is my top priority. This stone hall is too strange; it’s better not to enter,” Han Li thought calmly.
But just after taking two steps, his expression changed drastically. His figure flashed and disappeared into thin air, then reappeared inside the hall entrance, only to vanish again within the stone hall.
At this moment, on the rocky side of the basin, a large group of Moon Veil Sect disciples suddenly appeared, led by a seemingly young but actually the sect’s ancestral master—a spirit girl.
The girl looked toward the spot where Han Li had disappeared with a puzzled expression. She seemed to sense someone nearby, but now the place was empty. Had she been mistaken?
Unwilling to believe it, the girl stood still and closed her eyes lightly, releasing her vast spiritual awareness. Apart from her group, no other immortal cultivators were detected near the basin. However, when her awareness scanned the stone hall, it was immediately repelled by some force, pushing her perception outside. This startled her but quickly turned to joy, and a smile appeared on her face.
At first glance, she had already realized the stone hall was sealed by a forbidden spell, which didn’t surprise her because the demon beast lairs they had cleared earlier had also been sealed multiple times. That was nothing special! However, the seal here was so strong it blocked even her spiritual awareness—her first time encountering such a powerful forbidden technique. It was far beyond the shallow spells she’d seen before.
Excited, the spirit girl decided not to dwell on the earlier confusion. She believed that even if a few disciples of other factions were nearby spying, it wouldn’t impact the many Moon Veil Sect members here! So she led her group toward the stone hall.
Meanwhile, Han Li was inside the main hall of the stone hall, pacing back and forth anxiously!
