Chapter 168: Fierce Battle (Part 2)

After finishing all these preparations, Han Li finally relaxed. He took out the gray little sword Talisman Treasure, sat cross-legged, and began casting spells, intending to activate the Talisman Treasure to fly up and attack the enemy in the shortest time possible.

At that moment, the “Senior Brother Lu” opposite him had finally gathered enough spiritual energy on the Azure Flood Dragon Banner and launched a storm of attacks.

He stopped waving the banner and suddenly pointed its tip fiercely at Han Li. Instantly, more than a dozen half-moon-shaped azure wind blades shot out from the banner’s tip, rushing toward Han Li like a torrent.

The speed of these wind blades was incredible. They were still on Senior Brother Lu’s side just moments ago, but in the blink of an eye, they had reached Han Li’s position. Truly, wind-type spells are faster than spells of other elements by more than half.

If Han Li hadn’t prepared defenses in advance, he probably wouldn’t have even had time to react before being slashed into pieces by these wind blades.

As Han Li was still feeling surprised, the wind blades slammed violently against the outermost refined steel ring. Blue and yellow lights flashed continuously, accompanied by slicing sounds of “puff puff!”

When the light finally faded, the originally smooth outer surface of the steel ring was covered with more than a dozen crisscrossing grooves, each about a foot long. The entire magical artifact looked battered and worn. Fortunately, because the artifact continuously rotated when attacked, none of the wind blades struck the same spot repeatedly; otherwise, it would have been broken through long ago.

This outcome surprised both Han Li and Senior Brother Lu.

Han Li thought that although the steel ring artifact was not specifically designed for defense, it was a genuine high-grade magical artifact made of impeccable material. Yet, mere wind blades had managed to cut it into shreds, almost destroying it completely. This troubled him—he wasn’t sure if he could withstand the enemy’s subsequent attacks.

Senior Brother Lu was even more stunned. The Azure Flood Dragon Banner was quite famous among top-tier magical artifacts. He had spent an unknown amount of effort and cost to obtain it to match his own spiritual root attribute.

This artifact could effortlessly release simple spells like the wind blade technique instantly. Moreover, by absorbing certain spiritual energy, every wind attribute attack launched from the banner was amplified. So, although the wind blades just now appeared to be simple low-level spells, each had the power comparable to a mid-level spell.

In other words, the attack seemed simple but was actually a barrage of more than a dozen mid-level spells at once. Yet even so, it had not broken the outer giant ring. How could Senior Brother Lu not feel a chill and become even more wary of Han Li!

Although both Han Li and Senior Brother Lu realized each other’s formidable skills, their next moves were very different.

Han Li was still trying to drive the Talisman Treasure and unwilling to give up halfway. Even knowing the enemy’s following attacks would be extremely fierce, he could only grit his teeth and endure.

Senior Brother Lu, being more perceptive, noticed that Han Li had remained completely still from his defensive posture earlier until now after the attack. He knew Han Li must be preparing a secret weapon, either to cast a high-level spell or to wield a powerful magical artifact.

Without hesitation, Senior Brother Lu poured his spiritual power wildly into the banner again. He fiercely jabbed the banner tip toward Han Li, shooting out a continuous stream of small azure wind blades.

This time, the wind blades were smaller but continuous without pause, forming a long azure torrent. The momentum surged impressively forward, causing an intense clash of blue and yellow lights once again.

This time, the steel ring in front of Han Li held only briefly before suddenly letting out a heavy rumble. The yellow light scattered widely; the high-grade refined steel ring finally met its end, shattered by the dense wind blades.
