Chapter 162: Myriad Treasures Pavilion
The marketplace in Yellow Maple Valley resembled the Qingniu Town from Han Li’s hometown. The entire market consisted of only one street running north to south. At the southern end stood dozens of buildings, varying in height. Some were multi-story structures, while others were simple cottages, giving the area a somewhat haphazard appearance.
All of these buildings belonged to Yellow Maple Valley’s holdings, but only about half were managed directly by the valley’s disciples. The other half were leased to immortal cultivator families and rogue cultivators who conducted business there year-round. Most of the shops dealt in trade — raw materials, talismans, and magical artifacts. There was also a bookstore specializing in basic spell formations based on the five elements, along with two establishments for food and lodging: a restaurant and an inn.
Aside from low-ranking attendant disciples, a considerable number of foundation establishment stage experts were stationed here permanently to maintain order and prevent troublemakers.
The northern section of the street was mostly empty — a space reserved specifically for itinerant immortal cultivators who set up temporary stalls on a whim. As long as outsiders paid one low-grade spirit stone to the Yellow Maple Valley disciples in charge, they could set up a stall on either side of the street for the entire day without interference. During this time, the disciples would even protect them, ensuring no enemies took the chance to retaliate.
These encouragements for visiting immortal cultivators, combined with the marketplace’s unique geographical location, had caused the market to thrive year after year. Rare treasures sometimes surfaced here, attracting even more cultivators eager to hunt for bargains.
However, to avoid suspicion, Han Li did not enter through the convenient southern street entrance. Instead, he took a wide detour and entered from the north. Before stepping onto the street, he pulled a green cloak over his head to conceal his face, just in case someone here recognized him.
It was already afternoon. Looking down the main street, it seemed sparsely populated — not many people were out and about. But this was quite normal. After all, this was no bustling secular market filled with crowds at all hours; only elite immortal cultivators ventured here. Having even this many people was quite good.
With this understanding, Han Li chuckled to himself and headed toward the stalls lining both sides of the street. He planned to check if anything worth noting was on these stalls before moving on to the larger shops.
After browsing around, Han Li felt somewhat disappointed. Except for three or four items that were barely acceptable, the magical artifacts and talismans on these small stalls were useless to him. Buying them would only waste spirit stones, so he gave up wasting time and turned directly to the larger shops.
"Seven巧 Pavilion."
"Wind Summoning Studio."
"Heavenly Craft Pavilion."
...
This time, Han Li did not recklessly enter just any shop. Instead, he leisurely strolled along the street, deliberately memorizing the names and sizes of the shops. Then, he selected the one that looked the grandest and where other cultivators frequently came and went — the Myriad Treasures Pavilion — and stepped inside.
Just hearing the name of this establishment, it was clear that the owner had great confidence in their goods. Han Li hoped to find some rare treasures here and not leave empty-handed.
Upon entering, Han Li was slightly taken aback.
The bright hall could comfortably hold dozens of people without feeling crowded. Long counters crafted from precious red tung wood stretched out before him, and seven or eight attendants dressed uniformly in green robes were present. The entire place exuded an imposing and elegant atmosphere.
Two of the green-robed attendants were explaining something to a few visitors who looked like cultivators.
Behind the counters sat an array of miscellaneous items. Judging by their appearance, they were all things only cultivators could use — from low-grade raw materials to the most commonly used talismans and magical artifacts, everything was available.
