Chapter 158: The Blue-Clothed Woman
The young man sneered coldly as soon as he saw the situation.
“Since I’ve already taken your attacks, does that mean it’s my turn to attack now?” As he spoke, he retracted his protective shield, clasped his hands together, and suddenly pulled them apart. A huge crescent-shaped azure arc blade appeared between his hands.
“Try my Azure Arc Slash!” the young man said darkly, then the blade sliced through the air with a whistle, flying towards the two opponents.
His attack drew gasps from the onlookers. Everyone could see that the Murong Brothers were completely unable to cast spells now, let alone defend themselves.
The youths panicked, looking around in confusion. Then, they split left and right, running into the crowds on both sides.
“Open!” the young man suddenly shouted.
The flying azure arc, following his shout, split into two halves midair. With a pull of his hands, the young man sent the two parts pursuing, each chasing after a youth.
By chance, one of the youths realized that Han Li was one of the few with relatively deep magical power among the onlookers, so he ran straight towards Han Li, causing him to jump in surprise.
Han Li had no intention of getting involved. He knew that no matter how arrogant the young man was, he wouldn’t dare openly harm the Murong Brothers. At most, he was just trying to intimidate or tease them. So Han Li was determined not to be the scapegoat.
Moreover, the youth was cunning—obviously trying to use Han Li as a human shield. Han Li wouldn’t let him succeed. With a slight shift of his body, Han Li vanished from his spot, causing the youth to charge at empty air, cursing loudly in frustration before scrambling away.
With a rumble, the ground shook in the direction another youth fled. Dust rose, and a man’s curse echoed—it was clear someone less wise than Han Li had not shaken off the role of a living shield.
When the dust settled, a thick earthen wall several meters high stood across from them, with a crescent-shaped groove several feet long carved into the wall. Behind it stood a stocky young man in his twenties, carrying a strange wooden crutch. He pressed one hand on the wall and cursed loudly. Behind him was another Murong youth with a bright smile.
“Lu, what do you mean by this? Don’t you see others here? Yet you still attack! Are you planning to take me down too?” The stocky young man shouted angrily.
Senior Brother Lu snorted, ignoring the stocky youth’s accusations. Instead, he scowled and fiercely controlled the remaining half of the azure arc blade, suddenly accelerating it to chase after the youth near Han Li. Judging by the blade’s trajectory, it seemed he intended to leave a mark.
“Stop!” A young woman’s sharp command came from above. Suddenly, a blazing fiery bird descended from the sky and swallowed the azure arc behind the youth in one gulp, then transformed into a ball of flames and vanished.
“Who? Who broke my spell?” Senior Brother Lu shouted furiously, looking up into the sky.
Above the crowd, a beautiful blue-clothed woman appeared, her skin smooth as jade, radiant and ethereal like a celestial being. Her slender waist, elegant jade-like neck, and blue palace gown, along with her high coiffure, gave her an unapproachable, otherworldly aura.
“Oh, it’s Junior Sister Nie! No wonder who has such powerful magic!” The previously furious Lu changed his expression, becoming courteous and refined upon seeing the woman in red.
“Senior Brother Lu, for my sake, how about ending this match here?” The woman in the palace gown stood on a magical artifact and spoke coldly.
“Hehe, if it’s Junior Sister Nie’s wish, then I will certainly comply.” The young man smiled broadly.
The palace-clothed woman nodded and said no more, descending from the sky to approach the Murong Brothers.
“Senior Sister Nie, you came just in time! Otherwise, we would have suffered a great loss!” The youth who had just escaped ran up to her with a bright smile. Another also grinned, running around the earthen wall to join them.
