Chapter 153: Yuelu Hall
Han Li stood on a stone platform halfway up a mountain called Wujun Mountain. At the far end of the several dozen zhang-wide platform paved with mountain stones was a huge secluded mansion completely concealed by magic formations—“Yuelu Hall.”
This "Yuelu Hall" was the exclusive storage place for the formulas, books, and secret techniques related to the magical artifacts and pill refining of Yellow Maple Valley. It also provided various auxiliary tools for pill refining and artifact forging, as well as some commonly used raw materials. It could be said that this was one of the most important places within the entire sect. Therefore, it was not only sealed with numerous restrictions and layers of magic formations, but there were also over a hundred disciples patrolling nearby on guard against any external intrusion. There were even rumors that a senior uncle at the core formation stage was secluding himself here year-round to guard against any powerful intruders.
After mentally reviewing the related information he had gathered, Han Li calmly walked forward.
When he first descended here, he had already felt several vigilant gazes observing him from the shadows multiple times. But perhaps because his magical power was ordinary, they quickly restrained themselves. Even so, this still surprised Han Li.
Since these people were able to prevent him from sensing their locations, it meant they either possessed top-grade magical artifacts capable of concealing their presence or their magical power was indeed above his—meaning they were elite disciples above the twelfth layer. How could Han Li not be even more cautious!
After taking a few steps forward, he stopped. Then, softly whispering a few incantations, he raised his hand. A red light shot forth from his palm and struck what appeared to be an empty space ahead.
After a brief spatial disturbance, a red-tinged light barrier suddenly appeared in front of him. Immediately, two disciples dressed in red appeared behind the barrier.
“Are you the one who broke the prohibition spell?” one of the red-clad disciples said coldly.
“I am Han Li, and—”
“We don’t care who you are! Since you don’t meet the foundation establishment stage’s standards, you must have a guarantor. Show us your guarantor’s token!” The disciple impatiently cut off Han Li's explanation.
Han Li was unbothered by the rude tone. Calmly, he reached into his bosom and took out a Jade Talisman, then placed it on the ground in front of him through the light barrier.
At that moment, the cold-voiced disciple reached toward the barrier and tapped it. A palm-sized circular hole appeared out of thin air.
The other red-clad disciple, who had not spoken before, lightly beckoned with his hand. Han Li’s Jade Talisman, as if it had wings, automatically flew through the small hole and landed in his hand.
“Senior Brother Ma is your guarantor?” The red-clad disciple who examined the talisman spoke with some surprise.
“Yes, this is the token given to me by Senior Uncle Ma,” Han Li answered honestly. But inside he was shocked. These two red-clad disciples were not very old, yet they were foundation establishment stage experts. This greatly surprised him!
One must understand that in an immortal cultivation sect, status was not based on seniority, but on the depth of one’s realm. After all, the path of immortal cultivation was all about learning from those more capable!
“Is that the Senior Brother Ma who’s obsessed with pill refining?” the other red-clad disciple also expressed surprise.
“Isn’t that so? He even acts as a guarantor? That’s truly surprising! You’re not his personal disciple or relative, are you?” The red-clad disciple holding the talisman became curious after confirming it several times.
“No, I’m only watching over the herb garden for Senior Uncle Ma. But to get this token, I’ve already agreed to watch the garden for free for a year!” Han Li did not dare be negligent and quickly replied respectfully, though he wore a bitter smile.
